Post#1 » by Wilford Brimley » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:54 am

-Chiefs have 2 offensive TDs in the last 4 weeks

-Jennings out

-14 point favorites

-Rodgers 11 TDs shy of Brady's 50

-Get in, get the win, and get out

Was going to go to this game but something popped up so I can no longer go. Just hoping for a W and no injuries.

There's no doubt both MM and AR want to go undefeated. It's going to be difficult to balance that against injury. The Colts decided not to go for it a few years ago, rested their guys and did not win the SB. The Pats did go for it and did not win the SB.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't think there is any 'right way' to do it. If we weren't undefeated, I'd probably want to rest our guys.

But since we are undefeated and there aren't a lot of other teams that really look like they can compete with us... I say **** it, let's try to make history.

A Super Bowl is a Super Bowl and that's great. It's the ultimate goal. But 19-0 is something that will go down in history as maybe the most dominant season ever and be remembered forever. It's something that another team may not do for a long, long time again.

The moral of the story: winning the Super Bowl is hard.

Imo, it's better to keep the entire team in the same routine than it is to put it in everybody's head that they should be scared of getting hurt. Fortune favors the bold.

We also may never get another shot at it. Go for it while you can.

"Playing scared" never works. Last year we had 6 elimination games and won the title. Coasting and resting is a bad idea. We'll lose to a team that has played well and played hard going into the playoff game against us.

I, too, say go for the undefeated season. Aside from a Rodgers injury I don't think any injury to anyone would be too critical to the point where we couldn't win. An injury to Clay or someone like that could give us issues but we can overcome them.

You guys would really want to rest guys for 4 weeks? I guarantee you we would lose our first playoff game if that happened. We would face off against a hungry team with everything clicking for them. Our defense would get blown out like crazy.

Yep, and anyone who has listened to MM over the years knows he is very much about his routine, he has the same practice schedules, same meeting times, etc... he is very much about details. Usually when they play on Monday night or something he bumps the schedule for the week back just to keep players in the same rhythm. I have no doubt that MM won't change much if anything down the stretch, the only thing is we might see the starters getting the 4th quarter off if the game is out of hand like today but nothing beyond that.

I'll be at this one. Love me some KC: BBQ, blondes, etc.

Note: the last game I went to was the last time we lost.

At least we know who to blame if it happens.

You're starting to dip into the south in KC. A great blend of Midwestern/south look. So yeah, I would say so from the few I know and the times I've been down there.

Now I wish I could go. You should make a post about your time when you return.

I don't like saying stuff like this but it's hard to come up with a scenario where we lose this game. We could probably play our worst game of the year and win by 3 scores.

I'm heading down with just one friend, but there are like 3 other groups we are meeting up with. Given the nature of these groups, I may not remember much about being down there. I'll try to document with photos.
