Fernandez and Ricky

Post#1 » by dr. strangelove » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:09 pm

They successfully played for the same team during four seasons. They know each other very well. They are roommates when playing for the Spanish NT. Their respective families have good relationships. Rudy played very well during his rooky seeason with another spanish PG (Sergio Rodriguez). If you want Chemistry, he's probably the best SG to play along with Rubio. He won't play for Dallas this season (CAP space reasons). Do the Timberwolves need a SG?

We don't need Rudy considering he wants to stay in Spain.

I'll pass on Rudy. I'd rather not have to watch this all season:

Rudy coming to Dallas Wednesday to request a buyout. Preferred destination Minnesota to play with Spanish speaking players Rubio and Barea..

Would you guys be interested in a trade Rudy for Randolph ?

We have no reason to give Randolph for Rudy. If Rudy's choices are buyout or Minnesota (weird...) I would offer a second round pick or lazar, ellington, etc. Depending on salary I am totally down with Rudy. The fact that he said he wants to play with Barea and Ricky, awesome. Dallas wants cap relief anyways, would be cheap.

Yeah, Lazar and/or Ellington for Rudy would be my offer. I'm not really a fan of Rudy, though.

Dallas could use another center though. And if he is bought out he may not clear waivers or maybe Dallas just trades him somewhere else.

I could maybe be talked into giving up Pekovic but definitely not Randolph.

He said he wants Minnesota or to stay in Spain. If he goes to Spain we don't care. Sorry, the basic fact from our Minnesota perspective is we have no reason to over spend on Rudy. If he happens to want to come here and it would basically cost flipping a deep bench/reserve player and giving Dallas Cap relief, sure we are in. Anthony Randolph? No chance.

I like Rudy, but doesn't he play minimal defense?

Nate McMillan says Rudy Fernandez's defense was 'difference' in Game 4 win (playoffs against Dallas)
