Ronnie Price Appreciation

Ronnie Price will officially sign with the Suns later today. It's a one-year deal.

I know he wasn't everyone's favorite, but the dude made up for his lack of skill with sheer hustle. I also think he was one of the few players who really bled jazz colors. I'll never forget his hatred towards the Lakers, especially during the playoff matchups with LA over the past few years.

I hope he does well in well in Phoenix

I can't remember if it was this series but I remember the Lakers were killing us and it was quite obvious we were gonna be sent home. Sloan put in the 2nd unit and Price went off. I remember Sloan saying after the game that he hasn't seen a guy change a game like just by sheer hustle alone. Pretty cool. Thanks for the awesome moments Price.

I always liked Price. The guy would be a game changer a few games a year. That being said it looks like the front office is looking for a deeper PG rotation. Ronnie is more of a SG in a PG body.

I think he will do well there and likely be a regular rotation player. He was extremely under-rated by the Jazz and most Jazz fans. He will be missed. GL Ronnie Price!

Seemed like a good guy to have in the locker room, smart, hard working, challenged the other guys every day.

Considering he has career averages of 3.6/1.3/1.1 on 39% from the floor and 30% from 3, and is about to move enter his 7th year in the league, you know he does more for your team than shows up on the box score.

Who'd of thought that guy would have a 7 year career worth over $7 million coming out of UVSC. That is very impressive. I actually think Phoenix makes a lot of sense for him, he could fit in well there and extend his career by another 3-4 years.

That's awesome.

He's one of those "It's too bad he wasn't a couple inches taller" players. If he was 6'4" then he'd have a Monta type ceiling.

And I always have to give it up to a player I passed in the halls for a couple of years. I was glad when we signed him.

Best dunk ever!

Price has always been one of my favorite Jazz players. I'm sad to see him go and I really wish that we would have re-signed him but I'm glad that he's signing in a good place like Phoenix. I wish him the best of luck down there and I hope he gets an opportunity to showcase his talents down there. He really is one of the hardest working guys in the league, I have so much respect for him.

Love you RP, thanks for representing the Jazz the right way.

Hollinger: Price is a turnover machine who depends entirely on his diminishing athleticism; he probably shouldn't be in the league anymore.

Ronnie Price was a perfect third-string point guard. All energy, heart, and toughness. He wasn't a competent back-up on a daily basis, but I can think of several games where he brought us back from the dead with his harassing defense and clutch threes.

As someone else said, Ronnie the person deserves to have more talent than he was graced with. I wish him only good things.

Yup, I'd rather have him than Tinsley. Price's energy was an asset perfect for a third stringer, without the drawbacks of Tinsley.

Honestly really glad he's gone, but I appreciate all the work he's put in as a Jazz man. The guy's a class act. Kind of a bonehead on the court, but man, he's got heart.

I just enjoyed watching him play, but we'll be a better team without him. Favorite price moment (other than watching him embarrass Boozer as a King), watching him pester dwade. It would inevitably lead to fouls, but ill always remember a few possessions last year when wade was completely suprised at how obnoxious ronnie can be.

Hopefully this wakes him up to playing a smarter game, and reinventing himself as a defensive stopper / potential spot up shooter. Would love to see him have a long career.

Also, I'll remember in NBA 2k9 when they made him absurdly athletic and shockingly effective from deep, and completely annoying some of friends with price's scoring outbursts when I took dwill out of the game.
