I think could compete. Now if we could upgrade backup point & center I'd be happy.
dude Hedo is not going to be benched as long as Stan is Head Coach

Yeah, he doesn't look to be in the fold for Miami. Also, NJ just signed Shelden Williams and with a possible Nene signing, it looks as though Humphries could very well be out of the picture for the Nets.

I'm pretty sure when Otis said we had gotten similar talent to what Dwight was asking for he was speaking about JRich in place of SJax. We wont trade for Jax now.. there is nowhere to put him. All three, JRich, Jax, and Hedo, will want to start... especially Jax..

Hell no.
Especially because there is no place for him. We can't have Jax Hedo and JRich. One of them is going to end up imploding on our bench, likely Jax.

I could've swore he just read what I posted in terms of what BIG's we could pursue.
JoshuaBRobbins Josh Robbins
Magic still need another big who can play center, even w/Glen Davis. The team also needs another PG, unless they go w/Pruitt.

Apologize if this was covered elsewhere but was curious.
Broussard just tweeted that the only places Dwight would sign long term would be Orlando, Dallas< NJN, and LAL. Konwing this which of these teams have the leverage of caproom to sign outright this offseason?
I don't think Dallas and LAL have the space and NJN might now if they don't sign Nene but what does their cap situation look like?
Also on the bird rights rule, is there really a $20 million or so impact to Dwight if he doesnt get a S&T by Jan 1? I could be wrong but with this new CBA if we get past 1/1 the Magic seem to be in the driver seat if he wants top contract dollars.

Not liking Kris he seems like he could be a distraction, I like Clark because he can play the 3 and 4 unlike BBD/Anderson hell if he bulks up a few more pounds he could spot at the 5 with his length and athleticism.

That's a surefire way to watch Dwight walk... No way we should play Hedo or SJax (like GS did) at the 4. It's asking for disaster

I'd be more open to this over the Ryno/JJ idea's. Hate to lose Turk only because he's a very good locker room guy but if Captain Jax keeps Dwight around you make the move. Gooden is overpaid but he's a solid backup.

Hedo's contract is longer.

J-Rich needs to kick rocks.....Too inconsistent and virtually brings nothing to the table that Redick can't emulate

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VII)
Gooden is dumb as bricks, but if it gets us SJax, then I'd do it...reluctantly. We'd be severely overpaying for our back-up 4(/5?) in Gooden, who I haven't liked even when he was on our team almost a decade ago.
However, a lineup of:
Jameer/Hughes/Duhon/Pruitt
J-Rich/JJ/Hughes/Von Wafer/Liggins
SJax/Q-Rich/Harper
BBD/Gooden/Harper
Dwight/Gooden/BBD/Orton
Does not look too shabby to me. We just need to cut one of our 3 non-guaranteed contracts (probably Pruitt)
If we'd trade JJ/Ryno, it may cause some problems if we didn't start SJax, but I think it'd be great to have Hedo come off the bench. He could light it up against backup SFs who aren't anywhere near as tall as him. It'd also take pressure off of whoever we have playing backup min at PG, because he could play point forward. I don't know, I like the JJ/Ryno for SJax and not having to take back Gooden. Then we could use the MLE and TPE to try to re-sign Earl, acquire another big, and get a decent backup for Meer and we'd look to be in pretty good shape.

Hedo has an option year (he's definitely staying if he has a choice, loves it in ORL) and gets paid a mil more each year.
