]Wow Warriors rescinded Williams qualifying offer? Damn. I did not see that coming. I mean don't get me wrong RW is more of a role player than anything else but he's a pretty good one at that...
Nah I'm with you. Jewish Jordan just needs a chance to shine. I would start him at PG and Deron at the 2.

This off-season is shaping up to be a good one. Imagine if we get Dwight, Arenas (Vet Min.) & RWilliams... putting all the pieces together

yea true but we might have to wait till dwight trade is resolved.stevieboy wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Dwight and Arenas have the same agent too.
And yea, Reggie Williams QO rescinded. Worth trying for if he can play SF.
I think Reggie is a good signing either way.We might need him after dealing with the Magic to.

If we could trade Farmar for pure cap space I would jump all over it. I'd rather have Gaines backup Deron anyways.

Re: Gilbert Arenas?
For me signing Arenas is a no brainer. Low risk, low cost talent. He isnt going to return to all star status. But that doesnt mean he cant be valuable again. What's the downside? he sucks and you cut him? Or he has a big mouth and you cut him? Or he does...what and you....eh you get the point.
These are the type of moves that every good team in the NBA lines up for. Heat will be the first to call. Guy actually wants us and Dwight wants him? Give the guy the contract, stick him in a box with a red bow on it and mail him to Dwight's house with a card that reads, "house warming/xmas present...welcome to NJ".

If the Nets were to add Morrow to the Howard deal then it wouldnt surprise me if they signed williams but i really hope they dont trade Morrow

EXACTLY!!
I actually think with the whole amnesty thing with Arenas he could be a brilliant signing on vet min. I mean its got to be hard being Outlaw or Arenas playing each week with everybody talking about you being a massive problem to the franchise and clogging the cap. Basically being a waste of space.
The beauty of bringing in Arenas to me (outside the obvious Howard/Williams link) is that nothing much would be expected of him other than vet min production so the pressure is completely off. Im not saying he will return to all star status but for me it would have a huge effect on him being able to just concentrate on his game because he sure as hell doesnt have to worry about money the rest of his life.
Giving him backup mins at PG and some time at SG would be really good. Especially in this shortened season where injuries I think will be massive. Having capable backups will be a huge bonus during this compressed season.
Possible line up:
Williams / Arenas / Gaines
Morrow / Arenas / Brooks
Hedo / RJ / James
McRoberts / S Williams / J Williams
Howard / vet min or FA
I just stuck in McRoberts as a MLE type signing which would probably be what would happen for our PF spot and RJ/Ak same sort of idea of bringing in a vet on the cheap.

It depends how much Reggie would make because Morrow has a great contract.

Re: Gilbert Arenas?
I'm starting to think that we should sign him regardless of whether the Magic keep Dwight there or not. As we've stated, it's a low risk/high reward move. Could you imagine if he did become Agent Zero (shooting wise again) on a vet.min. contract?

Re: Gilbert Arenas?
Yeah this is the kind of signing this team should be looking for to be honest. Veteran guys in cheap/short contracts. If they pan out, great. If not, no big deal and we don't blow our cap space on guys like Outlaw and Crawford.
Honestly, I think it can work. Dwill starts along side Morrow/Brooks, and Gil plays the role of Jason Terry off the bench. Him and Gil can close games out, especially after Dwill got extensive experience playing off-ball during off-season.
