It is frustrating to watch moves get made and us doing nothing. It sucks too because it seems like when we do hear about something we are interested in it goes out to early and it blows up in our faces.

I think we have made smart moves. There was no one out there that was gonna dramatically improve our team. Our best way to get significantly better is through trade and unless we get someone like Monta, a trade doesn't help. Right now we have a roster of players who have some chemistry and we should be winning some games with this line up.

We need a back up center and an huge upgrade at the PG backup position.

The core of the team is pretty good and should have some good chemistry left from last year. I think Big Baby was an upgrade over Bass, who had nothing clutch about him in the later part of games.

DUDU is garbage and it is our weakest link, it needs to be addressed.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

Why not Kyrlo Fesenko, the guy is tall,if he is cheap I`ll take him easily.

That would be stupid, but I can see it happening given Stans hard head.

I'll point out one more time, there's a reason the guy was available in the second round. Potential? Yes, but it will probably take a couple of years, assuming he works hard.

We just gotta hope the same team from last year steps their game up.

I don't expect any major trades or any big moves from the Magic.

I don't know, after all that's happened, keeping Dwight is a pretty major move. I don't doubt that we'll make more changes between now and the trade deadline, and hopefully Dwight won't be one of them.

Still, our offseason hasn't been entirely quiet. No, there hasn't been a huge splash, but:

Added Davis and Wafer, Hughes and Pruitt
Signed our rookies Liggins and Harper (and basically got a third rookie in Orton)
Re-signed J-Rich to a decent deal (less than 1/2 what he was previously being paid. Almost can't believe Otis managed that)
Amnestied Gilbert.

Not the worst offseason Otis has had (if you ignore the Dwight speculation).

Dwight
BBD/Anderson
Turk/Harper/Q
JRich/JJ/Liggins/Wafer/Hughes
Nelson/Duhon

given that all the additions came at the 2, it makes me feel like either:

1) there's a trade looming and out wing depth will be depleted (most likely JJ).
2) they feel that SG was our biggest weakness and needed the most improvement.

if (2) is the case, i don't understand re-signing JRich, or offering Wafer and Hughes deals. are they really going to make a difference playing behind both JRich and JJ? if you pinpoint your weakness and the answer is to do the exact same thing, but add a couple of marginal role players, are you really doing the best job you can?

regardless, if this team is given the go ahead again, i'd like Stan to give Jameer the opportunity to be that 2nd scorer we need. give him and Dwight 16-20FGAs a night, and let him develop into the role of go to scorer - because we know he can score in bunches. his problem is managing that balance between getting his and remembering he's got the most dominant big man in the game camped out in the post looking for easy buckets.

Or so they want people to think so they won't have to trade him. I know, i am so skeptical.

Hi guys new poster here, been a Orlando magic fan for years, and I've read all these speculation threads since the first and thought I'd jump in on the discussion! So if GSW doesn't want to part with Ellis and CP3 seems out of reach, Would Iggy be a realistic option for us? Also, do you think Otis hasn't made any trades since Bass-Davis because of the cp3 deal pending with the clippers? Or is he actually content with the team we have now? It's virtually the same, but with Davis instead of Bass, I guess we just have to hope J Rich Jameer and Hedo go hard this season. I remember Hedo saying he want's to go back to how he was in the 08-09 season where he was more aggressive and he wants to attack more. So maybe that's what it will take if we truly aren't going to do any more trades. I'd like to see a backup center and a way to get rid of Duhon...We have like 8 guards right? We gotta be doing something there, especially if we need to make room for someone like Iggy or a backup PG/C.

giving jameer the green light to be the #2 scorer and attempt 16-20 shots a game would be instant fail...jameer and the team is best when jameer is being aggressive and getting into the paint, but he cannot and will not be a reliable #2 scorer, problem is nobody else on the team can be either..since we lack a true 2nd option we need to feed dwight and keep the ball moving, jameer dominating the ball doesn't work

I say we sign Kyrlo Fesenko and Erick Dampier. If we trade Ryan Anderson bring Carl Landry.

this is getting real frustrating man...Me not knowing anything is killing me softly.....i try not to get affected by it but every now and again i think about us not doing anything and it gets me angry....Maybe we're trying to make deals and nothing is coming to fruition.....Maybe teams just don't want to help us even though it should be about business....Maybe Otis is content with our moves now and have all these Guards on the roster for depth....All i need is an inkling...a whisper....a legitimate rumor or something....we play Miami the 18th....basically 5 DAYS AWAY...The longer we take the harder it gets to make a move

Jameer is a fine 2nd option... Is he the IDEAL? Maybe not but Its not his offense or assists that are the problem, it's turn overs. Simple as that. Our team turned the ball over so much, and because we put almost no effort in offensive rebounds, we lose a lot of opportunities to put points on the board.

Ya, our offense got stagnant against the hawks, but remember our guys were unhealthy, in shooting slumps, and guys like Anderson and bass were shaken up by there first action in a playoff atmosphere. I think we are putting a little to much into the "get me ellis or we can't win" talk. I'm the first one to hope we get a guy like that, but I don't think we are doomed without him.

If Dwight can make 70% of his ft that's a ton more points on top of his already insane production. Just ask Nelson to keep hold of the ball a little better.

Kind of interesting, If JRich thinks there is only a SLIM chance of Dwight staying why would he want to stick around? He's going to want to win.
