Considering his drama queen nature, lack of defense, and already having better shooters on the team then him, I don't see the need. So he speaks Spanish, great, lets hire some hot Spanish cheerleaders to help Ricky enjoy Minnesota, we could probably get 40 for what Rudy gets paid.

From the portland board ;)
He's a sieve on defense but plays the passing lanes pretty well.

The source is Marca, not the most reliable source.

He's better at defense than people think. He lacks strenght, sure, but he's really annoying for the opponent because he's really quick, gets a lot of steals and he is very good with long rebounds. When he played with Ricky in Joventut those two got a lot of steals and easy baskets and they understand each other very well, 1 alley-oop per game is guaranteed.

If the Wolves can get him for one bench player that won't have more than 3 or 4 minutes per game it's a great pick even if he goes back to Spain next season. The only way he would stay in USA next year is if he could get a better contract than the one he has with Real Madrid in Spain, 2.7M Euros.

I haven't found a video with Joventut, this is with Spanish NT:

I would offer nothing.

I take that back - Maybe you can have Lazar Haywood, simply because of roster crowding.

He may suffer with the biggest guards in the post (not that there are many capable of producing there anyway) and sometimes gambles too much for steals but all in all is a very good defender who can have a big impact even when he's not scoring, and rebounds quite well for a guard.
Watch this game of the last Eurobasket for instance, he was al over the place in defense.

IMHO Rudy would be a great pickup if you don't get Martin, and even if you do considering Webster is out for who knows how long and ellington, well, is Ellington.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

I think that the only teams that should be interested in him are those that have a shot at the championship this year and need a cheap asset, because his contract is only 2M$ and what Dallas wants is cap space. With other teams I don't see the point because he'll probably be out of the NBA next season.

Then, why should Minnesota be interested? Because of Ricky. It's not only that he can help Ricky to adapt to the NBA, it's also that they make each other better and they could create a sense of team play for the rest of the team that could benefit the Wolves in the future. Rudy's best season in Portland was his first year when he could play with Sergio Rodriguez for example, they made each other better, and both Ricky and Rudy always look for the extra pass, share the ball, are always active on defense and that definitely helps a team even if that isn't visible in the stats.

Anyway, I hope egoistically that Dallas buyouts his contract and he comes back to Spain because he was our best player this season and we'll miss him.

Tolliver?
Not like they desperately need him anyway but i guess he could beat the custodian for the 3rd string PF spot.

They could DEFINITELY use tolliver.

Cheap, veteran, big, can play center, plays hard defense, will take a role.

I wouldn't swap Rudy, when he wants out, no less, for Tolliver without some incentive.

Everyone in the NBA has a BFF, it's part of the NBA experience. We could have our own big 3 with Barea, Rubio, and Fernandez.

Yeah I think Tolly makes sense. I love him because he's always hustling and making plays but he's buried on our team.

Love/AR/Dwill/Beasley would all play pf before him I think.
Darko/AR will play center before him, Love and Pek most likely too.

Tolly's an expiring but he's also Brian Cardinal with talent.

It appears Rudy might be headed to Denver.

Per ESPNDallas: Mavs trade Haywood, Fernandez, Brewer for Perkins, Robinson

EDIT - looks like the guy who posted this was full of it.

Tolly is one of the best bargains in the league at his current contract. I think you gotta keep guys like that around. What we'd get in trade for him now will never equal his value.

I agree about Tolly, it almost feels like a waste though because we are under utilizing him.

I heard Brewer was in the deal to Denver as well. He always played really well vs. Denver, so maybe he'll break out over there. George Karl seems like a real good coach for him.

Afflalo/Brewer is some good perimeter defense.
