Told report Jamal Crawford got a two-year offer for 10 mill from Indy is overstated.

I wouldn't be against Jamal coming back as 6th man. Back when he was here, he was sort of a go to guy. That was a problem, because he took on the role of a star and attempted to do star like things which didn't work for him and was hurtful to us. Coming back to a team with legit star players, he'd be a role player and spark off the bench. There will be times when Amare/Melo will probably be injured or need rest and having a pure scorer in Jamal who can create for himself wouldn't hurt. There's a reason he's always in the running for 6th man of the year. That's his nitch. I support his return in the role of 6th man 100%.

I'm glad somebody else feels the same way I feel, as a 6th man he will be great, but him starting will screw up chemistry issues. You already got Melo and Stat you def dont need another guy chucking in the starting line up. Plus he is gonna be playing for another contract, so that means he is gonna be trying to showcase himself, the only way he can do that is to score. Cause he is not a playmaker, nor , defender, nor rebounder.

Why couldn't TD get the team into the offensive sets efficiently (you know with substantial time left on the shot clock) enough last year and not at all in the playoffs last year?

The way I see it is I don't care how productive a PG is as long as he can do what a PG is supposed to do which is run the offense and pressure the ball without reaching.

But Jamal Crawford isn't a pure PG either, so not sure how this question is relevant to the comparison.

But if you'd like to make it simply a referendum on Douglas, okay.

For one, I'd like to see some evidence that this visual observation of TD's lack of PG skills showed itself in the Knicks production while he was on the floor.

In the areas it mattered, Knicks actually outscoring the opponent and W/L. I don't tend to respond well arguments based on visual impressions.

That said, IMO it's also relevant that TD was a second year player, playing the position that perhaps has the deepest learning curve of any in the league.

I don't think he's ever going to become a pure, PG with the vision of top guys like Kidd, Nash, Paul, etc.

But I also don't think he's done getting better, and even if he never becomes a solid pure point, I think his value is likely under-appreciated as a combo guard.

As was my point, you can make a strong argument Douglas had the better year then JC overall.

I think fan's lack of patience and frustration over the fact he's not a pure PG and has struggled in certain aspects makes them overlook he does some things pretty well, again, especially for a second year player.

My thing is this...Let's say Crawford was added to this current roster and was asked to just simply bring the ball up in the face of pressure and set the offense up which would mean to make an entry pass into the post or run a P&R he would unequivocally and undeniably do a much better job then Douglas, period. Just throw the stat comparisons out of the window for a second and look at how it translates to things that happen on the floor that can't be measured by statistics.
