Hayward Traded to OKC

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:45 pm

APkrawczynski Jon Krawczynski
Lazar Hayward was not at #Twolves practice today. Barea will take his roster spot when that deal gets announced in next few days.

The #Timberwolves have traded Lazar Hayward to the #Thunder for two second-rounders.

With our luck, Kahn used the amnesty on him. :starwars

Either way, Kahn failed by picking up Hayward's option.

This is why I don't mind Kahn (or any other GM for that matter) selling a late first for $$$.

He was only getting paid 1.097 million, not that big a deal guys. He may be getting traded to a team without players, NO only has 5 right now.... there is a pretty hefty minimum salary now, guys like lazar are better then paying fines for being under the minimum, at least you get a guy to practice with.

Hopefully, he can find a new team.

Knowing he couldn't find minutes on the worst team in the NBA last season I have little hope, though.

I liked Hayward even in college so I was really happy when we drafted him but there was definitely no room for him on our team, hopefully he will find a new team somewhere. I would have rather seen him go than Ellington.

Hope Lazar can make a career for himself. Just wasn't a good fit here as he is probably at best a 9th/10th man for a team.

Funny that a lot thought it was a wasted pick last year. I'm hoping Lee breaks streak of picks I didn't like proving me right.

I'd be surprised if he was waived. Plenty of teams need cheap, end-of-the-bench players to fill their rosters. Maybe held out before a trade?

OKC has acquired Lazar Hayward, the 30th pick in the 2010 draft, from Minnesota for undisclosed draft considerations, source says.

^ Nice. Probably a "future 2nd" top 59 protected or something.
