NBA League Pass

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Tue Dec 13, 2011 8:00 pm

Is on sale now:

http://www.nba.com/leaguepass/

Free until January 8, 2011.

Has anyone heard about NBA league pass coming to PS3 like NFL league pass? I'm debating whether i need to buy another ROKU/APPLE TV pass so I can watch the games in my man cave.

$170 isn't to bad.So a four month season would equal out to be $42.50 per month.Only thing I wise is that the cable company would break it down to that per month instead of billing it all at once.

I think it's very expensive. Not going to buy it.

it might be to do with a lot of u.s games being blacked out because they are available on tv/big networks...in aus you only get a few games on tv a week so might get 99% of games available...that might be a reason.

I'm sorry but nearly $200 for some damn basketball games is a joke. Netflix cost you $8 a month to stream 1000's of movies. These sports passes are raking people over the coals. I'd either have to possess a lot of discretionary income or have absolutely no chance to see any games otherwise to shell out that kind of cash.

Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but i believe if you have a Roku player or Apple TV then you only need to order the broadband for $109 for the year?

So does anyone else who subscribed to League Pass Broadband last year show an active subscription running from 6/14/11 to 6/14/12 with a cost of $0 when they log in to buy a new one? Cause I do.

I can't find where it says the free until January 8th (I remember they did something similar last season) but I wonder if they will show some pre season games on league pass too

Probably because you signed up for an automatic renewal. You'll eventually get charged unless you cancel it.

Roku: http://www.roku.com/

http://www.nba.com/roku/

It appears you just need to order the broadband version and then you watch it on the Roku NBA Gametime channel. So you can get 5 teams for $109 if you have a Roku ($50-$100) or an Apple TV ($100) or any other compatible streaming player (Boxee, Western Digital makes one, etc.).

People need to be aware of blackout rules that go along with League Pass. I assume they are still around. I.e. you won't be able to watch the wolves if you have a twin cities based IP. There are ways around it though.

For those looking into a roku or a streaming media player.

I've built several home media servers and XBMC\Boxee media players\streamers. As well as purchased a few such as the WD(i think?) Home Theatre, dlink boxee, a roku, and WD Live.

My favorite even out of the ones I built was the Dlink Boxee.

http://www.amazon.com/Boxee-D-Link-Stre ... B0038JE07O

It's a really slick device with an easy to use interface. Most of the heavy lifting is done on the backend with my server with SMB file shares or with netflix. My only complaint is the remote and qwerty keys should be backlit as its hard to read in the dark.

If I can figure out how to get wolves games on it with league pass I'll be extatic!

How did you get the 15 dollar discount?

I have a computer hooked up to my TV so the broadband would work for me. I don't have cable so this and pie is my only option. I'm kind of sick of pie, it can be too much work.

why would you buy league pass when you can stream the games? or are all games not streamed?
