I'm hoping we found the deal that makes Dwight stay

That would be awesome, but probably just shut down due to the poor offers and letting things play out since Dwight has left the door open to stay.

sam_amick @wojyahoonba first reported Howard talks ending, and second source confirms now. Being told Portland stood to gain 4 first-rounders in deal

WTF HOW COULD THAT EVEN BE AN OPTION! I know its dead, but jesus christ. The twitter has ruined journalism, because there is no way that rumor had any factual merit

So after reading the past 5 pages, I can conclude that we're all feeling pretty good :D

All these deals, with LA, Portland, NJ, etc.... it's just been disrespectful... thank God Orlando had the balls to just say No

In the end, Dwight loves this city, and he has a higher chance of re-signing with us than other team.

That tweet would be more believable than Otis getting us Ellis and Iggy

So we're just assuming this is Alex and not a joint decision by Otis and Alex because someone said "this has Alex written all over it"? Good call nonetheless

4 1st rounders for Gerald freaking wallace? Wow, no way. Other Blazers had to be in that deal.

Wait, so the deal was:

Wallace + Lopez to Orlando
Howard + Turk + Duhon to NJ
4 first round picks to Portland (should have been from New Jersey, but given rules about consecutive draft picks, we were probably slated to send one or two of them).

I'm not surprised it got nixed. I know we got some epic cap relief, but that deal for Dwight Howard is a bad, bad joke. I am surprised that the speculation went on as long as it did, if that was the bones of the deal.

not at all..just didn't like the offers..we aren't making any moves

I feel the same way. I wouldn't rule out the idea of Orlando having a deal to bring help in the pipeline, but I think it more likely that we have told New Jersey et al that their offers are nowhere near good enough for us to even consider them.

Doesn't mean talks may not re-open soon (and by soon, I mean tomorrow - there's a chance, depending on how desperate Dwight's suitors are, that they come back with significantly improved offers very soon).

right now i don't see us doing anything big, maybe at the trade deadline otis will make a move to get help, i expect 1 or 2 small signings in the next day or two

@WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
When asked about finding a shot creator for the magic Otis Smith's response was "Why do you think we went out and got Larry Hughes?" league sources tell Y! Sports

At this point, I don't know what Otis would do. Definitely don't think he is on the same page as the rest of Magic FO

how is there not a third team willing to do a 3 team trade to bring in Monta? Why is Marc Jackson trying to keep him? thats a small back court.

Return to Orlando Magic
