He requested a trade.
Management said that they would listen to offers but likely would not trade him, especially at this time.
Dwight softened his stance a little, indicating that he may be open to staying if things move in the right direction, but did not rescind his trade request.
Nets made offer.
Magic told Nets "Stop calling, it's getting creepy, and why are you hanging out outside Amway with nightvision goggles?"
Dwight reminded Magic that he was still likely to leave as a FA if not traded, and March 15th was the last date they could trade him if they wanted anything in return.
I don't know about you guys, but I am not expecting Dwight to back down from his trade request any time soon. Did anyone really expect that him saying "If things change, I might stay" meant it was all over and done with? So much depends on how we start this season - if we're towards the top of the Eastern Conference in early March and looking like we could contend, who knows? If we land a legit 2nd option between now and March 15th, who knows? But while Dwight eased my concerns ever so slightly over the last couple of days, and I agree with managements hardline stance on the kind of offers New Jersey has put together.
Maybe he still gets moved before Christmas if L.A ponies up and offers Bynum, Gasol and picks, or maybe they offer that and we still say "no thanks" and ride it out. There's so much information and misinformation floating around from anonymous sources, that until I hear stuff direct from the mouths of the people involved, I tend to take it with a pinch of salt. It's been confirmed that Dwight requested a trade, he hasn't backed off that stance, and an offer was made by New Jersey which was knocked back. That's it right now.
Sums it up.
I will say Otis needs to be fired, like... 2 years ago!

Also, remember guys, Nets don't have anybody on that roster that will make them good this season. That team as is is still a 7th seed maybe don't even make playoffs. If they suck this year, and don't bring anyone in, then there could be a chance that maybe Deron might also want out and we can work something out. The point is, magic are going to play this out, and see what happens.
BUT WE AS FANS CAN'T BOO DWIGHT...IF THERE IS STILL A CHANCE HE MIGHT STAY, THEN WE NEED TO CHEER AND CHEER LOUD.

. . .So im trying to think, why wouldnt he want to go to the clippers or Bulls? Maybe because Rose isn't much of a passer and the Clippers dont have any distributors on the DWill/CP3 level and all he wants to do is play with one of those types?. . .idk, any ideas?

We already know the drill, put Howard on an island and lock up the rest of the team defensively. Brooklyn Bricks.

My worst fear is that Dwight lets this circus affect the team during the season...It's already a distraction i can't imagine how it's going to be when we get things rolling
the question is why the hell did we even bring in BBD and sign JRich to long term deals if we are most likely going to have to rebuild????????? We all know Otis isn't the brightest bulb, but management can't all be that dumb, can they????

guys guys. dont get worked up about absolutely nothing. first sentence which claims dwight warning the magic was not reported by Woj. RealGM basically unethically made it look like he did by putting a quote from him next.
that should tell you about how things work when it comes to rumors.

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.
"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
The spin. The first article read as if Otis took the deal to ownership and was rejected, and the espn one reads as if they collectively decided to call off taking offers, probably because offers were bad. There is no reason why Otis could not have rejected the offer and THEN went to the owners to consult with them and tell them there was no use taking anymore calls because we are not getting value, and then they decided collectively to publicly announce that he's off the market.
Fegan is pushing this trade because he wants to get paid, and the sooner it happens the better for Dwight. That's his job. Not that I am optimistic about Dwight staying or anything, but i don't put much into these reports as far as being an indication that a lot has changed.

Screw Dwight!!! If he wants to go, trade him for the best package after January 1st so he no longer can get that big deal. Period. Then fire Otis, and move on.

I wonder how well this trade would go over..
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/5950713, as well as the Magic and Rockets 1sts to the Hornets.
It also gives the Hornets 14m around in cap-space, the only thing would be if the rockets agreed.

Jan 1 things could change, and it seems ownership is willing to gamble, that's all i am saying. It's their money so, it's whatever, but I am not so sure Dwight is willing to walk away to NJ and get a possibly lesser deal, while Deron is there with his rights and full money available. As a pride thing, i would think it would bother him that he is the star and won't be paid the most.

Co-sign.
These rumors are seriously starting to get annoying. I also do not believe that he asked for another trade request, only that he is not rescinding his original request which Mitchell said in his post. I seriously believe we can do some damage in the East but Dwight has to have his head right and be there for his teammates which I believe he will.
