Problem when looking at our current roster without Dwight is defense. We have the offense to replace him, but defenisvely out liabilities will be exposed and we'll be torched by the other team without Dwight under the hoop. NJ gave up 100 points a game last year with Lopez in the paint.

When he does something good, it needs to be said too: Great job Otis :)

This is a good signing but I'm still not on board with Otis... :-(

That's gotta make our defense better. Especially if we lose Dwight. I really like the way our roster is shaping up. Sign a back-up Center is probably all Otis is going to do...I expect Pruitt to be cut..haven't heard anything about him.

Yeah, I'd imagine he got the mini MLE cause that's all we had left.

There is no way Earl Clark should be getting paid 7 Mil a season....I like Earl as much as the next guy but he did nothing but ride the pine....if he's getting that much then he better be a lot more involved in the team

Stevekyler said he would have made more in Denver but he wanted to play in Orlando more than anything else. I don't think he got paid very much.

Like a lot of people here, Dwight is my favourite player on the Magic and arguably ever in Orlando. I also am still not satisfied with Otis. But, having watched the video of Dwight singing at the reporters yesterday, I have to say I just cannot see him staying here. I know you have to be guarded in what you're saying but I also feel Dwight should recognise this is a huge talking point and a lot of fans of his and the Magic want to know what is going. That's the first time ever yesterday that I've seen a side of Dwight that I didn't like. It could just be me but it was almost like 'I'm going soon, so what?' Whilst I have enjoyed Dwight's time here, it's over. I would never trade him for that New Jersey offer but if I could get a package from the Bulls, Thunder, Blake Griffin straight up or a better deal from the Lakers, I think it's time to come to terms with Dwight has been gotten to and isn't going to change his mind. He doesn't want to be in Orlando or a player on the Magic anymore.

Maybe he got half the mini MLE? I was joking about the 7 to counteract the Otis love I was seeing here.

We still need a backup C.

I'm thrilled to get Earl back! A backup C is the last thing we'll add via FA.

I honestly think a 4 team trade with LAL, Chicago, and Houston would be the best value at the point.

Orlando would get:
Noah
Gibson
Jimmy Buter
Asik
Jordan Hill
Johnny Flinn
Montejeinus
Charlottes 1st rd pick
Houstons 1st rd pick
LAL 1st rd pick
Dal first rd pick

LAL:
D12
Turk
Q

Houston:
Gasol
Duhon

Chicago:
Bynum
Ryan Anderson

It does not have to be those players exactly but you get the point. You turn D12 and your bad contracts into as many young players and draft picks as possible and you lose like crazy this season. You could also move Jameer, JJ and J Rich at the trade deadline for expirings and draft picks.

TIME TO CLEAR HOUSE AND RELOAD OKC STYLE WITH 2 LOTTERY PICKS, 2-3 MORE 1ST ROUNDERS, A TON OF CAP SPACE, AND A LOT OF NICE YOUNG PIECES.

We're not getting any deal better than that until Dwight softens his stance on only 3 teams he'll resign with...Until he does that it's NJ or LA period.....

If he used the MLE that was expiring then this was actually a good move. I liked earl but I don't think this does anything to help keep dwight.

As a side discussion, what do you think SVG will do without Dwight? Not sure how happy he will be coaching a team that will not be a top team. he doesn't play the rookies, which we have a lot of. Not sure how this will all work out with no dwight in the paint.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

I think the Lakers will improve their offer once the season is underway.

It's really hard to say if Dwight is going to be pleased about this...it's like he's not in the spot where he can be happy about all the young talent we got...he's in a win now mode. I guess we'll have to see how we do this season with him here. A "W" on Christmas day against OKC will warm my heart.

I will be excited to see what Stan does with the new squad minus Dwight. I always felt Dwight held us back offensively, years ago because of a lack of skill, and in the last couple, because he demands the ball everytime and just sits and clogs the paint on offense.
