I was surprised to read that all of the Clippers NOH trades hit twitter before the actual players were notified. Crazy fast leaks.

If we get Gasol/Bynum would GS be interested in trading Ellis/Lee or Bieds for Gasol? Then trade the TPE for Ariza

PG- Ellis/Jameer/Hughes
SG- J-Rich/JJ/Von Wafer
SF- Ariza/Clark/Liggins
PF- Lee(?)/BBD/Anderson/Harper
Ce- Bynum/Bieds(?)/Orton

Now that the CP3 domino has fallen does this signal the rest of the league to start making deals now?

We might look like Denver out there with a line-up like that. Lol. Oh and add Orton to that.

^ we have to do something to clean up the wing positions and it looks like JJ would be the odd man out with JRich being here at least till march and the others on cheap deals

David Stern and I don't think any teams outside of a few were waiting on CP3 to go through. We're 4 days from preseason and I think most teams wanted to make their moves by now. Yes, few guys still need to get sorted, but doubt we see a big trade. The only team that might have have been holding on was the Lakers, and they could put together a bigger deal for Dwight now. I expect a D12 to LA trade rumor to start up sometime this afternoon.

If the lakers offer bynum and Gasol we HAVE to make the deal...If Bynum was to stay healthy we would arguably be better then before.

That being said, we could easily flip one of them to get back the much needed wing player and draft pick we have been searching several seasons for.

We have basically an entire team of rookie backups now. Liggins/Clark/Harper/Orton and we'll have our younger guys with experience Redick/Davis/Anderson there to guide them. If we could pick up a younger center and a point guard project we'd be set for the future with a solid foundation.

I agree and if we did it would have to be gasol as he IMO is declining and has the longer contract, plus we already have 4 pfs on the team as it is with BBD RA EC and JH

Did you guys think about Deshawn Stevenson? I think you could bring him in as a starter for the 10 first minutes to set the tone defensively and then bring on JJ or JRich. Shouldn't take more than the minimum.

We do have quite a bit of youth there. Liggins and Harper are totally unproven and Clark has limited experience. Harper could have a big upside, but I am not sure that SVG is the coach to bring it out of him. I don't think SVG is the best at working with young talent. The problem is there is nobody on there that people are going wow about, no potential future star.

It does look like we already have the youth part of the rebuilding. We need to get a young potential star, not just role players. We will need picks to do that and hope for some good luck in the draft. Tha is if Dwight is is leaving.

None of this will happen though if the RDV wants to win before he dies approach is true. They are going to be trying to bring in some star talent to this roster and try and do it now.

If that is the approach they also need to get a grizzled veteran with championship experience, that's not Davis either.

This is gong to be tough.

ProbBalldraft
Hunch based on conversations with league execs is that Dwight Howard ends up being traded to the Lakers. Bynum & Gasol good package.

^ we already have way to many 2-3 players as it is and were also hoping Liggins can be that type of player, plus Stevenson left on not the greatest of terms quite a few years back

If we move Dwight and Hedo to LAL for Bynum and Gasol we need to move Gasol and not Bynum, Gasol should bring us a very good sf, Iggy and 1st comes to mind.

Jameer
JRich
Iggy
BBD
Bynum

thats pretty good IMO

Come on, everyone is talking like Harper is the next big thing. The guy was a 2nd rounder, come on! Wake up!

Liggins/Clark/Harper/Orton? Every team in the NBA has something like this.

Its a young core, but not a good one.

Yeah, I know you guys are looking for a silving lining, but our young "core" is nothing great...at all. They probably won't even see the floor.
