A lot of movement today. If we don't make a move soon other than Clark for today and this weekend, we're probably sticking with this line-up and Davis will just back-up Dwight a long with Orton. I DO like this roster, I just think the PG (More this IMO) or SF position needs to be addressed if we're going to be serious about winning a championship this year. Time will tell.

Only if we trade Dwight and get him out of the middle.

If you look at our first 20 games or so....we could very realistically start our pretty hot:
http://www.nba.com/magic/cohen_forecasting_121511.html
I wouldn't be shocked at all for us to be like 16-5 after these 21 games. At that point, is he still bitching and moaning about winning? I honestly think this team is a contender, I really do. I think people totally discount the injuries to 3 key pieces at the end of last year (Redick, Hedo, JRich). I think we matchup very well with Chicago (although them getting Rip sucks).

That was actually a good choice... Portland needs all the scoring help they can get with Roy now out of the picture, and LMA having a heart procedure... and let's not forget Oden and his issues... they need help imo
This will take strain and pressure off of Wesley Matthews and Raymond Felton as well.

Can you imagine if we pull off a trade for Nash right now.

In some weird way, I feel like our team has really good depth this year. I think Davis is an upgrade over Bass. If Hughes is Nelson's back-up, that will push Duhon to 3rd string. J-Rich will be more comfortable in the offense this year. Redick off the bench is always big for us. Wafer is not a bad 3rd string. Liggins and Harper, although they won't play much, are great insurance pieces to have in case of injuries. Anderson off the bench is big as well. Our SG and PF spots have great depth. And now with the recent re-signing of Clark, our SF spot is in good hands as well. Hedo/Clark/Q-Rich will give us good ball-movement, point-forward action, size, and defense from that position. The only real position that's sketchy is the back-up C. Orton is a huge question mark, but I still expect a nice contribution from him in the few minutes he'll receive.
This team is about as equivalent, depth-wise, to the 2009 Magic team imo. 2010 and 2011 didn't pan out due to the personnel changes on the court, and SVG's system taking a while to adjust to. This year come be lining up to be a good year for us. I can't believe I'm saying this, "but I like this".
However, I still feel like we should actively and continuously pursue a secondary star for Dwight, as well as clear cap space for the future.

This is a good watch. I like D. Aldridge. Dwight should pay attention to his comment that if he commits the other players will come:

Dwight Howard made 8 of his last 10 FTAs. I think he's just messing around because 6 straight makes were off the backboard.
okay I'm convinced.. he's making FTs this year... and we're going to be winning all those close games we usually lose because of it.

Well with Clark expected to be our wing/perimeter defender... the only other area of concern is... well... scoring... and by scoring, I mean, a shot creator and play-maker... aka a star (like Ellis)
In the playoffs, that is key for us imo... I mean, we can still make a run to the Finals without a scorer like that... but it'll be more difficult to do so obviously... especially going up against teams like the Knicks, Heat, etc.
If we're going the depth/balance route, everyone has to be on the same page... that means Hedo and Nelson has to have big years for us.
