Right now looking at our roster our big minute guys are going to be Dwight, Turk, and JRich, with Nelson probably hovering around his 30 mpg mark per norm (btw, getting playoff Nelson all regular season would be tremendous, which is around 33-34 mpg). Looking at the below stats you can clearly see that Hedo is not longer a scorer and much more a facilitator. A damn good one too.

'08 Turk averaged 36.9 mpg
'11 Turk averaged 34.1 mpg

'08 Turk shot 14.9 FGA per game
'11 Turk shot 9.4 FGA per game

'08 Turk shot 45.6% FG
'11 Turk shot 44.8% FG

'08 Turk shot 4.8 FTA per game
'11 Turk shot 2.1 FTA per game

'08 Turk made 5 AST per game
'11 Turk made 5.1 AST per game

'08 Turk made 3 TO per game
'11 Turk made 1.8 AST per game

'08 Turk shot 4.7 FGA at the rim
'11 Turk shot 1.5 FGA at the rim

Yeah, I'm for keeping Dwight at the moment. I'd like to see what this team can do in this 66 game season, especially as you pointed out, see if Turk can return to form. IF he plays better than he did this past season, that's a huge bonus.

I think it's all bargaining, us saying we'll hold onto him until the season is over. I don't think they can go past the trade deadline. I don't even think they'll go past Christmas if they can get a deal in from LA here soon.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm understand NJN's strategy, they're trying to clear a bunch of cap space for Dwight, but it's going to leave them with a bunch of guys on one-year, expiring deals, who they will have to renounce before they can offer Dwight a contract in free agency. They've got to sell him on Deron, Brooklyn and nothing else (which may not be a hard sell in some respects), but what happens next summer if the guys who on the free agent market aren't interested in signing for New Jersey for the minimum, which is basically what they are going to have to offer?

IMO, it will come down to a sell for both franchises, for both players.

Dwight
BBD
Hedo
JRich
Deron

or

Dwight
Lopez
?
Morrow
Deron

convincing Dwight to want to stay is the corner pin. you get that and Deron comes, because he sure as hell wouldn't choose losing in NJ over a potential 'ship in Orlando.

Barkley says if he had to start a franchise w/1 player, it would be Dwight Howard, not LeBron James.

There is one thing for sure for me, I won't be buying another player's jersey for a long time. I'm sticking with straight up magic logo for now on. I now have a useless Dwight throwback jersey and 2 dwight shirts.

I still say we should hold him past Jan 1 and cost him the money.

I do appreciate some players, older ones, saying they want him to stay here. Never heard that about CP3. Sheridan had a long list of moves Otis has made on his site, yes, they didn't work, but they were moves, and a ton of them...

Vince Carter, Ryan Anderson, Brandon Bass, Marcin Gortat, Matt Barnes, Jason Williams, Chris Duhon, J.J. Redick, Malik Allen, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu and Glen Davis.

i know what happened over the summer, Dwight had an affair with Beyonce, got her pregnant and that's why he wants the nets so bad ... he needs to be closer to his baby mama

yeah, i get that. but as i've said before, winning can change everything. if we have a strong season and a deep playoff run (not like the Cavs last playoff run), Dwight might be infected with the possibility of winning it all.

there's nothing stopping Dwight from living in these places and pursuing his other agendas in the offseason. as mitchelluk said, these teams aren't gonna say "yeah, skip this next road trip so you can go star in a movie!".

although his marketing and endorsements would go through the roof if he was in Brooklyn, that can't be denied. Orlando just can't compete with that, unless the no state taxes makes that big a difference.

At this point I have very little hope that anything could change his mind. Even if we go undefeated until the deadline he would find a new reason to want to leave.

dwight howard is just a spoiled child that is easily swayed. he has little mental fortitude and I hope we screw him over with the deadline. he's going to get torn up by the media wherever he goes.

JRich is a better player, IMO.
