Here's a bright side: At least there is someone on the roster more injury prone than Hendo and Tyrus now!!

Oh and I forgot to add to my list of probable misfortunes that Diaw will likely callapse from the added weight and have a heart attack on court.

Jesus Christ. I saw the headline and though "Hey, that's cool." Read the first few pages and was all set to do a "well lets not get carried away, but this is exactly the kind of signing I want us to make... young guy with upside. Maybe he never gets better, but then again, maybe he does, and we'll be the ones to reap the benefits."

...then I got to page 5, and:

The Revised and totally honest history of the founding of the Bobcats:

1: League Promises Charlotte a NBA team for the 04-05 season
2: Larry Bird among other prospective owners try to buy team
3: Robert Johnson seeing he wouldnt be able to beat out the Likes of Larry Bird (because Larry Bird has that clutch spending ability) performs the black sacriment to gain the godlike powers necessary to beat out Larry.
4: God Punishes the Bobcats:

SteveReed_AP Steve Reed
Update on new Bobcats shooting guard Reggie Williams. He will have surgery on his knee and be out 6-8 weeks. Team knew about injury.

THAT is truly amazing...that this front office would sign that guy knowing he's got a bad knee. Gee...he must be the next Scotty Pippen according to MJ  .

Please someone tell me why... ...

I mean really...I am just about at my wits end with this team.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'm not surprised that the team knew about the injury. Reggie is not the kind of guy to try to hide something like that. I think you guys did fine with this deal. Less Reggie this season just means a better draft pick. Then he can play with your team all next season after you get a young stud in 2012.

If Cho will be as good in building championship team as he is in seting up a tanking season, we are going to be a dynasty.

:D :) :( :o :-? Well now the fans are told it will be 6-8 weeks before Reggie can play. I was actually excited after seeing him shoot on a previous post. I wish the front office would just be upfront with the fans rather than trying to get some media exposure on signing a FA before dropping a bomb on us that he is damaged goods. I watched a TV interview MJ gave recently where the words PLAYOFF TEAM
came out of his mouth.   Here's the facts:
1.Our choice at center is either an overpaid, non offensive, injury prone bench warmer from the Larry Brown era, an AARP throwback to 2003-2004 Bickerstaff era or a untested foreign player who has contract problems and is still unsigned  Steven Hawes resigned with Philly for 4.6 mil for 1 year and Kuwamee just plain did not want to play here. And Jordan/Higgins decided the above choices were better than spending the money.
2.Rather than being proactive in shopping Diaw with DJ to get something of value, We instead tell Diaw to put on some weight to play center at 6'9" don't address DJ's contract either by extending him or trading him. The truth is that he already is planning on what other team he wants to play for next and will leave now knowing that the Bobcats drafted Kemba to replace him. Why not trade both now before we tank the season.
3.TT is starting to get discouraged because he was use to winning with the Bulls. Hendo's the same way coming from Duke. We drafted /signed KW and BB , White and Brown to start rebuilding, but then we don't finish the job. We could have easyily traded DJ to OKC for Maynor and Aldrich and Diaw for a couple of young players but instead we do nothing. I have always heard that Paul Silas is a "Young" players coach. Well lets give him young players
4.All the eastern conference teams, except the Bobcats, have strengthened their roster. Because of our reluctance to make hard decisions we very well may finish last in the conference and maybe last in the league. MJ has to be hurtin for money, but if he doesn't start spending ,he will soon lose the confidence and trust of the fans and Charlotte will end up like New Orleans, Bankrupt

Its still not too late to salvage this season and continue rebuilding, but we need to make some trades to get more 2-4 year NBA vets and expiring contracts, while unloading Diaw and DJ now and Mags in 2012

did we turn what looked like a great contract at 2.5/ into a bad contract, since we're basically paying him 5 mln to play 1 yr for us?

BobsBunny I like your suggestions, especially the trade that would land us Maynor, a guy who actually could turn out to be a future starter.

Swedd...I'm OK, just reacting to what appears to be continued blundering by this organization. I mean, look around the room...I don't see too many of my fellow board members pleased with how things are going so far.

But, as our buddy John Fox said, it is what it is. This year's team theme should be "..tanking is the reason for this season!" I get it, and the key should be on developing the young talent we're going to keep, and trading players that will get us added assets for the future.

I'm not going to disagree with you.

If the team knew about the injury, then it's a head scratcher why they signed him anyway, maybe they want to send him a message like, "Hey, we want you on this team in the future so we're putting our faith in you to heal quick"

Other than that, I don't really think we've made any bad moves. We're setting up for a tank season so we aren't going to go out and try to sign big name guys. Plus, we still have to deal with these bad contracts for another year or two so there won't be much noise from us.

Maybe I'm just numb to the fact because I'm so ready and expecting us to win 16 games this year? Who knows.

Yes, you are wise to allow yourself to be comfortably numb..it is the best way to bear this period in Cat's history. I need to remind myself that we indeed went full reset at the trade deadline last year. Cho is a keen strategist, so I hope he is masterful in playing this out.

If we are losing, I do prefer to do it while watching and developing future young talent. Reggie Williams belongs in that category, so we will just need to wait for it.
