Bold predictions thread: The sequel!

Post#1 » by Calinks » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:11 am

This thread was fun a year ago. Let's make some new predictions for this season, anything NBA related.

I'm going to lay out one that I made last year during the season. I will boldly say that barring injury, Jonny Flynn will put up better numbers this season that Rubio. Not only that but you will hear a bunch of fans crying about it.

What predictions do you guys have?

Rubez puts up a 30/30 game of his own, dimes in lieu of boards.
Beasley puts effort into defense.
Darko puts effort forth.

Fact: All three statements are equally bold.

Primarily due to the "Flynn Factor", we'll easily post a better record than the Houston Rockets.

This isn't a bold prediction. I can easily see Flynn put up good numbers this season now with a fresh start on a new team. His horrible performance last season was primarily because of his hip injury, Rambis' system, and the terrible reaction from the fans. Rubio can just as easily become a total bust and put up numbers like 1.5 ppg 4.2 apg.

I think a lot of fans will disagree with you but that's pretty much how I see it too, Not saying Rubio will be a bust but I think he will struggle more than most wolves fans are talking about.

Jonny Flynn will be buried behind lowry and dragic and avg less than 10 mpg.

Rubio will average >8 assists and 2 steals per game, but also >3 TO per game.

We will see less than 20 minutes of a true center per game unless we play vs bynum/howard.

When we are defending leads late Adelman will go with a wing combo of Rubio/Lee/Johnson.

Ridnour will be traded by the deadline for an expiring/pick combo to a contending team that suffers an injury to their starting PG.

Wolves will finish ahead of the warriors, rockets, hornets, jazz, and suns in the west and just miss the playoffs with a 30-36 record, sending the hornets the 12th pick in the draft.

Kevin Love's rebounding numbers will decline to the 12-13 range, but his offensive efficiency, defense, and assists will all improve.

*Kevin Love to have dramatically less stats but be seen as a better player for it as team wins. 15ppg, 12 rpg and 3apg.

*Beasely and Wes Johnson traded during the season.

* Rubio leading the NBA in steals.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

There is only one number Rubio cares about: wins

Flynn may have better statistics, but Rubio will have a better overall season

There will be a thread on here calling for Adelman's head after our first big losing streak.

Darko will be gone by the end of the season, or his best buddy Pek will be traded and Darko will become an emotional wreck. (not that bold)

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
