I keep hearing rumblings about it, but nothing specific. RT @ZHalford: Any chance the Hawks move Smith?

Get it done, PLEASE !!
Im not a fan of SJ, dude is unhappy because no one wanted to give him a 2yr extension. he will be what 37? at 10m/yr and that doesnot guarantee Dwight stays. i dont want him.
He is 33, will be 34 in April. I wouldn't mind him. As Belgian pointed out, he brings defense, toughness and can create his own shot.
he is 33 now after 2yr extension he will be 35-36 , no way i spend $10m/yr on a 35yr old, would you?

Any advice for the Orlando Magic who are going through the same thing you are now?
“It’s funny I talked to the general manager, Otis Smith, and he’s a great guy. I think Otis Smith will come out of this smelling like a rose. It’s tough. These are franchise changing decisions and if you don’t have a situation where you feel like you are going to put your franchise in the best shape there’s no timeline. There is the trade deadline timeline, but there’s no rush to do it right now.”

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
When you extend a contract, is there a set amount that a player must receive? Does SJax have to extend for $10 mill?
If he'd accept less but still take the extension, you got to think he'd take the opportunity to play on a competitive team.

I thought that it extended the terms of his current contract w/raises, so he is at approx. 10 mil now, and 11+ next year guaranteed and then he wants 2 more years so he would get increases on the 11+ and so on. I am against that personally. I would love it if they took Hedo straight up and left the contract as is. If Dwight left, we could trade his expiring the next season. Hopefully they would only trade if he agreed to play this season and sell him on playing next to Dwight and making him look good to get a better contract later.

Yeah nothing on twitter or anything.
The last thing I saw was that Kobe was angry and could pressure the Lakers to trade both Bynum and Gasol for Dwight. My main fear is that Bynum has horrible health issues and we as the magic don't have a great history of taking on player with documented health issues and having it work out.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!
