Dalembert and the luxury tax

Samuel Dalembert is still out there as one of the biggest remaining FAs, he is the guy that would fit our need at Center and make us into more of a contendor, and Ik that it would take alot for ownership to into the tax but let me get your opinions: is Dalembert worth going into the tax over? and do you think ownership would be willing to go into the tax over Dalembert.

If we trade Hinrich and a second for a future first to a team with cap space, that would make room to sign Dalembert (6.75 M x 2-3) and get a minimum vet depending on future trades: Al Thornton could be useful or even Keith Bogans as it seems that Jefferson will stick to the Spurs!
In another thread I mention a possible trade with NO sending Zaza and Marvin + Rolle for Okafor, moving Al and Smoothe to the PF and SF positions.
Daly would have the same effect, except that you would keep Zaza for the battle with the BIG.
Marvin could be subsituted to KH, except that we would have to throw a few 2nd in order to get a pick back...

They will not go over for him. I think they need to trade someone like Hinrich to get the space.

Mainly out of necessity. Good centers are hard to get. Unless Atlanta would have traded one of their core pieces, they probably couldn't find one.

True but Horford has been efficient as our Center, just last year he got named to the All-NBA third team as the Center; but you are right he'd be alot more effective as our PF and his career would be longer.

I would love if we got Dalembert and I believe the hawks would go into the luxury tax but not for him. Signing Dalembert won't make the hawks more money. The ownership wants to see more profit coming from the team. Dalembert will not put more fans in the stands. Atlanta don't have any problem selling tickets when the good teams come to town. When we play teams like Sacramento or Cleveland, Phillips Arena be only half full. Until the hawks can get more fans coming to those type of games we will never go into the luxury tax. But if we were getting someone who will attract more people to the hawks I believe they will go into the luxury tax for that
