I think Davis is too one-dimensional for Jones. His Mayhem-level striking really takes away from his wrestling against someone as well-rounded as Jones. Rashad setting up takedowns with strikes is probably the best chance anyone has at grappling with Jones.

It would have to be a future version of Davis who is more well rounded.

^ But he'd be facing a future version of Jones who would likely be the #1 P4P fighter at that point. I just don't ever see him beating Jones.

Hey man, I never said anyone would beat Jones. Only that Davis has the best chance of out-wrestling Jones.

Fair enough.

Until someone makes Jones look human, I would bet on him to beat Silva and GSP in a two on one match.

You asked who the best pure grappler at 205 was. It is Gracie. Of guys who could ever legit fight for the UFC title, it is probably Shogun, who Jones already crushed. The best 205 grapplers are in Strikeforce. Gracie, Babalu and Fejao.

I thought it was clear I meant in the context of guys he could conceivably fight.

MW has Maia, Jacare, Palhares, etc in or around the top 10-15. HW has Mir, Werdum, and others near the top. LHW has some grapplers, but not an elite guy with elite grappling that actually uses it as his primary offense.

He'll run into some whenever he gets to HW, but by then he may have closed that hole in his game.

IDK I still think its a bad wrestling matchup for Davis. Not even just mma matchup, but mma wrestling as well.

I haven't seen enough of King Mo. Any chance he could take down Bones? I know he has a very strong pedigree.
