• Turkoglu began the scrimmage on the same team as J.J. Redick, Chris Duhon, Daniel Orton and Clark, among others. But Van Gundy said that doesn't indicate that Turkoglu won't be a starter when the season begins.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part IX)
JJ or J-Rich is going to have to be moved at some point. Considering J-Rich just resigned and can't be moved til mid-season, JJ will be on the trade block as the season gets underway. But if we still can't manage to land talent by mid-season, J-Rich to GSW for Monta?

I noticed that as well. Q played with the starting unit, but part of me would much rather see Liggins or Clark in that role.

Was at the game today, based on what I saw any of these three would be better than Turk. He shot more (bad) shots than anyone on his team, and still came up with 0 points. Q hit 3 threes and played great defense, and Clark was great defensively as well, and shot decent when he did shoot.
If Turk starts its a disgrace.

Yep. He's terribly lazy on both offense and defense. It's frustrating to watch.

You sure they didnt trade this years pick to Utah?
Hmm, yeah you are probably right.
NJ gave Utah a GS pick, they have their own for next year.

I didn't know players in the NBA can hold out like players in the NFL. Stephen Jackson isn't even at the Bucks preseason game.

Yeah, the bucks fan in the other thread said he complained that his back was hurting and wouldn't be there. He said it as if it was a tactic for his extension.

JJ can't create for himself let alone anyone else so that pretty much delegates him to spot up shooting. jrich well as much as I like him I really think we need to move on with the youth that we have at the 2/3. and in all seriousness based off what I saw wafer/liggins > JJ easily at this point.

That doesn't sound too bad. Define one dimensional though?
When he's in the game, he's thinking score, score, score. Big time tunnel vision. He lacks a solid all around game. With that being said, he shows some versatility in his offensive game. He's a decent spot up shooter, but really excels taking it off the drible. He seems to get into a better rhythm that way, especially when taking pull up jumpers. He can get to the basket, but lacks superior strength and athleticism to be a top of the line finisher. I believe him to be a good option coming off the bench in situational conditions when we really are having a hard night scoring.

ok now let's say I buy that assessment describe JJ/JRICH
Suprisingly, they are very similar players at this point in JRICH's career. Essentially, they are spot up, catch-and-shoot shooters, that need to play off a post threat big or penetrating wing. Both struggle to create offense on their own. They fair decently well having plays run for them where they come off of screens. JJ is a better passer while JRICH is a better rebounder, due to his body size and athletic ability.

we could of used that in every game of the Atlanta series

Agreed. A player like this is extremely helpful in the playoffs when it turns into a half court game.

but neither can create off the dribble... jrich is long past being an offensive threat and JJ never was unless he's open and on. when he's off he's useless.
