I am not sure he would be the best fit in Miami.

The guy can still score but he has lost that step and is very slow out there.

He would be best if you needed some quick scoring but you really don't need that with The Heat.

So when Dwade time comes, I wonder how that gonna look like it.

Wade doesn't live off of beating his man off the dribble, he actually has a lot of moves and a very good post game. In addition, he's bigger than those other guys, which will help as he ages. 07-08 gives you a great idea of what Wade will look like when the athleticism goes.

Are you even a Heat fan?

Wade doesn't make his living beating his man off the dribble?

And Wade jumpshot has gotten worse as he got older.

And Gilbert is listed as 6'4

Oh and Gilbert also had a lot of moves, he just don't have any legs anymore.

And Gilbert also was a way better shooter than Wade has ever been, just Gilbert is a volume shooter.

So basically you claim quick guards who lose their athletic ability to get to the rim and line and have no jumpshot end up being ineffective.

Dwade lives at the line, Dwade lives at getting to the rim, Dwade doesn't have a money midrange jumpshot, Dwade also isn't even a threat from the 3 point line.

I just thought it was funny, you was describing Dwade.

Wade has a much better ball handling and better footwork, skills that will never leave him, even with age. Just look at what Brandon Roy was able to do against the Mavs in the playoffs with his banged up knees just based off of his great ball handling. I kind of liked Gil and all, but his fundamentals were/are far worse then Wade's, which is why he depended on his athleticism to beat somebody off the dribble, whereas Dwyane can create space for himself and get to the basket without his explosiveness. It's that explosiveness that makes him so special, he'd still be good without it though.

Please go away Cable.Gilbert wasn't the play maker, ball handler or have the amount of BB-IQ/shot selection that Wade has nor does he even have the strength and post moves.

You obviously aren't a Heat fan to think that a Wade without athleticism wouldn't be effective since we've seen a preview of that in 07-08 season.

Also Gilbert is 6'3 1/4 while Wade is 6'4 3/4 in shoes while having a longer wingspan and reach.

Idk..I actually wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Arenas, its not like the guy has to start, and he may not have the athleticism he once had, but you can always use another baller on the bench.

I don't want at all. He doesn't even shoot well. Last thing we need is a guy who also needs to ball.

He fits on the Lakers and since he's a cancer I won't mind him on the Knicks lol.

Strange, Baron wants Lakers or Knicks too.

Both should go to the Lakers IMO. Just get Fisher and Blake out of there or something.

There's a difference between losing athleticism and playing with one leg.

You are pushing it dude. It's okay to come and put your input if the topic were the Knicks but you're coming here too often...

We don't need Arenas now, not when...

Baron Davis wanted to become a Knick so bad, where they faked an injury to get through waivers. Insane!

Glad to see Davis is off the table. Now any team but the Heat needs to pick up Arenas and I can sleep well at night knowing neither guy ended up in Miami.

Davis would have been a great pickup for the heat - he plays up or down to the situation. Give him that much audience and put Riles on his butt and you could have made something, and his cheap contract would have been low risk.

I'm not sure about Arenas.... His knee may be done. He's not the thug some people think, but he's far far stranger and has far less upside at this point.

The Heat does not have enough spots. The PG rotation got a huge booster from rookie Cole.
If anything, I think a young player like d-squad Harris would be a smater long term signing for the future.

Enough of these has beens.

Return to Miami Heat
