When should I arrive for the Heat home opener vs. Celtics?

Post#1 » by All In The Name » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:27 pm

I was lucky enough to acquire tickets for the Heat regular season home opener this season against the Celtics.

The game is on December 27 and starts at 8 PM.

Does anyone know when the arena will open for seating and/or what a good time to arrive would be?

I want to get there as early as possible for things like shootaround, any pre-game events (I imagine there will be something for the home opener), simply scouting out the arena, etc.

This will be my first time at the American Airlines Arena, so any other general advice/tips (such as where to park) would be much appreciated!

Thanks, and go Heat!

They normally open the doors like an hour and a half before the game.

If you want to be cool you'd show up 30 minutes late like everyone else in Miami.

Plan to get downtown an hour before tipoff. That way you have enough time to find parking and get in the gates before tipoff. As far as shootaround, that depends on when it starts. But that's my general advice given how late my father made me to every game we've been to down at AAA. Now that I live near the arena, I can just walk. :D PEACE.

Well if you have time show up at about 6:00-6:30 and go over to bayside. THere is a pizza shop that sells beers at 3 for $10. THats what I do, I dont go to many games anymore since the price is so high but I would normally go early and have a few beers there then walk to the game and only buy 1-2 beers inside since they charge you an arm and a leg there.
