Because shooting 40% from three is equivalent to shooting 50% from 2. Fcking math, how does it work.
How many times have we shot 40% from three against the top ten teams in the league the last two years? I'm sure even I can count that high!
That is because Otis has brought in players that aren't getting the job done.
Seriously, all this BS about taking threes is just beyond stupid. Other than maybe Big Baby and JJ, nobody on this team has consistently been mid range jump shooters in their career. Jason Richardson has been a career spot up three point shooter, he doesn't beat people off the dribble, he doesn't create for himself and others, he shoots threes. Same with Hedo, he has been nothing but a spot up shooter his whole career except for a short stint under STAN VAN GUNDY where he was allowed to excel in pick and rolls and create offense, but he is no longer capable/willing to do those things after getting paid.
I seriously can't think of a "system" that would work better with the players we have. Our roster is set up to create space for Dwight by shooting threes. It worked perfectly in 2008-2009, but the talent level and depth has dropped. THAT ladies and gentlemen is the problem.
