Nelson having to play the PG is this teams biggest weakness. He's not really a PG. He's a shooting guard trapped in a PG's body. He doesn't penetrate all that well, he not a PG level passer and he absolutely is terrible at advancing the ball in transition.

So true. So obvious as well. The is 2012 and we're still talking about this. Nelson is not to blame though. The blame is on the GM who thought all years that an undersized SG is the PG of D12's team.

1) The roster has barely changed. This is essentially the same team that got served by the Hawks in the 1st Round. Same group, same problems.

2) Making projections and talking about 'how to improve' seems pointless knowing Howard might not even be part of the future.

tonight's game was definitely a reality check...

Oh I know, this isn't the first time I've been called 12 by him. Given that Dwight is about to force his way out, we'll see who is correct about Stan Van Gundy! If Stan wins without Dwight then I will come here and eat crow to a big "I told you so" from Maginno. But I think what's going to happen is Stan is going to be fired and may or may not get one more chance to coach. Eventually he'll find his true calling as a colorful commentator and sidekick to his brother.

That excuse doesn't work as well when we only have two pre-season games after a shortened camp, especially when our starters are playing just under their normal minutes.

But it's not the statistics or even losing that bothers me. Everything I've watched looks like they didn't put in a lot of effort. Defense was an after thought. They looked slow and out of shape. Not saying I think we will have a lottery type of year, but I'm not very optimistic on our doing anything better than the 5th seed in the East.

Why do we always have to be the team that get's punked and embarrassed! I know it's preseason but still these guys have to shown some heart!

Mybad to everybody on the board just venting cuz my Oakland raiders lost by one freaking point to the lions today and the magic got embarrassed. Ruff day today lol...

The reason i'm not worried is because they looked like they didn't care... i'm hoping it's because it was a preseason game and not something involving Dwight.

I'm not that optimistic, I'm pretty much a realist. And the reality is that plenty of teams are going to be starting off slow and that nobody other than a Magic fan is going to draw a conclusion based off this game. Heat fans won't, analysts won't, players won't. In the NFL Indy used to lose all of their preseason games while teams like Detroit won them all. And NBA preseason games mean even less, especially in a shortened season they aren't going to be reflective on an NBA season.

Jameer at point guard is a problem, but the only thing we need to worry about from Dwight is the distraction and the fact that he could be leaving us (if not physically out the door, mentally) at any time. Otherwise he's set to have an MVP caliber season, he'll still have a great season. I do expect the Magic to start a little slow but that has nothing to do with this preseason game.

The reason you aren't worried is the reason I am worried... we don't have enough time not to care. It's obvious all this Dwight stuff has had an effect on them. I don't care how professional you are, your human and it's gotta be hard for to black out the idea that d(12)oomsday could be coming.

No...Jameer as our STARTING PG is a problem. Off the bench he's 6th man of the year potential.
I was really hoping the Magic would've made a run at Baron...but oh well...

Well yeah... my screen name wouldn't be what it is if i had a problem with Jameer. I actually think he's one of our best players, but when he's asked to be the creator its an issue. If we had a truly good shot creator who demands attention at one of the other positions we could still live with him as starting PG imo. Lakers did it with Fisher.

I've said this before, but I don't really think the problem is the people we have... the problem is the people we don't have. We tend to act like its all about us and if we lose its because of major screw ups or no leadership, whatever. I think in the past few years we've gotten farther than we SHOULD based off the talent that has been on our team, just look at the roster compared to other winning teams in the league. They're just more talented for the most part.

Dude chill the **** out!!!
As a Magic fan, I admit our team suck pure A**, They suck so much just shooting 3s after 3s….after 3s… all the f time!!! No wonder why DH wants out, If I was him I refuse not to play for the magic.. By now! I ain’t saying the magic sucks but the magic organization does and SVG aswell. We need a better coaching staff and a solid rosters, take out Nelson, JJ, Ryno, and Dodoo ass out.

i didn't expect us to care cause we are a mentally weak team. i agree we don't have time alot of time to get ready for the season, but, i'd prefer to think that tonight was just us not caring because it was a preseason game than to think this performance will last all season.
