I could care less about the game. This team sucks either way. Hows that?

You obviously do care and put weight into the game if you're already making these assumptions

i think he cared about the 1st round knockout this exact same team went through last season, and this season he's seen no changes in that same losing formula.

Pre-season has no value.

Why can't we wait til the thunder beat us, to hit the panic button?

we talking about PRETEND GAMES Y'all!

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

It's npt about the game yesterday. This roster got us bounced on the first round by the freaking Atlanta Hawks. Why should we think we are any better now?

Thank you. The overreaction in just about every other post was giving me a headache.

I understand that we don't have many pre-season games, and we need to get our stiffs in game shape, but, c'mon....

People seem to overlook the fact that there's a reason our rookies were available to draft when we got to our picks. They're flawed, they are projects, and they're unlikely to make a significant contribution this year.

Look at Orton. I've been reading all over this board about how he should be our backup center, he has all this potential, can't wait to see him get playing time. Then he plays in the scrimmage at the open practice and all I read now is how bad the guy sucks.

Our rookies aren't NBA ready. When you start with guys in the second round, they are going to take time to develop, if they ever do.

My concern wasn't the FG% or whatever rust I saw in that game. The real issue here is the fact that our roster hasn't improved.

Even when the 'real' games begin, our chances at winning a championship with this crew are zilch. If we go on with this same group then I don't think we have much to look forward to. I'm projecting another 1st Round exit (and we probably aren't going to get HCA this time).

I agree, but would it be too much to ask to let them get some burn when we're down by like 40, in a preseason game?

Preseason games don't change personnel.

I admire the people trying to stay positive. But lets face it....we suck. Our roster is lame, the system was figured out ages ago and we have a star who clearly wants to leave but we won't trade. The team is a mess.

I'm sorry. I say play the rookies. Atleast their younger and more agile. How hard is it to learn SVG system throw it into Dwight if he's doubled to tripled teamed shoot a 3 it's not rocket science. The rookies can't be no worst on defense compared to our starters.

What I saw last night was HURRIBULE...slow players, no effort & frustration. We have no athletes beyond Dwight.

No, but management does. I don't care that they got blown out yesterday. It is what I expeted since w ave the same personnel. Why would anyone expect us to be better if we have the same roster and system?

All it took for us to blow up the roster last year was 3 bad games and a sense that things were bad. A couple players, Howard included, say things, and panic mode comes quick.

Wow we suck, they look old, slow, and one dimensional with no athleticism, perfect team for Otis, he must be proud....i wonder If dwights actions alone will make this team fail, it could be a long short season

not sure why this would leave you feeling optimistic about tonight's outcome. I'm not saying I'm reading into this a whole lot, but these games hold a little more water than usual because of how compact this season is. I'm interested to watch Wednesday's class.

I'm not optimistic about that i'm frustrated actually, but i just expected it to happen. i think we're a leader away from a championship, which is why i wanted Billups.

I feel you on that one... I think we have good leaders, I've always thought Jameer was a better leader than he was a player, but I really think this whole thing has drained him. I don't think Dwight is exactly spewing quality leadership right now either. Sounds like Big Baby is trying but he's still just a sixth man at this point.

All this being said, I can't blame the guys for performing poorly last night. It wasn't just bad shooting or bad rebounding or bad defense, it was bad effort. But my mind would going in circles right now too if my captain was pulling this kind of crap on me. Knowing that we are a trade away from being one of THOSE teams in the East again. No amount of professionalism can fully remove that thought from the back of your mind.

Why, what is YOUR criteria?

So Dallas wasn't a contender last year? Cause...

For me? Top 15 player, top 4 team in the conference in MoV.

Iv'e heard the argument that nobody was complaining about our system in 08-09. The problem is other teams had not realized how easy it was to beat at the time. All you need to do is let howard have is day and stay on the shooters and we are shot. Howard is not enough offensively to win games on his own.

Our defense is solid when the team wants to put in the effort and when we do we can beat most teams even with the shooters having a bad day.

We need to add a passing PG and a wing that can create his own shot and is looking to drive. With those two items and Dwight in the middle we would be very tough to beat. Now I know that is easy to say, harder for Otis of all people to do.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!
