I was gonna say, a multi year deal would have became an epic disaster for the state of NJ's franchise.

We can afford one decent sized further multi-year deal and keep max cap for 2012 as long as we get rid of Farmar and Petro by the offseason, I just hope it's not AK.

For a one year deal I would open my mind and be pretty excited.
Multi-year deal? Not so much.

I know Farmar has a player option, but are they both guaranteed? How would they both count towards the cap if we were to waive them after this season?

We couldn't waive them, they would still count towards the cap for whatever the agreed buyout was.

Farmar might turn down his option, I wouldn't doubt it, IIRC there was a quote from him over the summer/fall from him directly saying he's thinking he will.

But I was saying to trade them this season for expirings.

I could see Farmar turning it down, he doesn't want to be here.

I could see the Lakers taking Farmar back for some of that TPE.

Utah Jazz fan here and AK-47 is extremely under-rated. You should trade for Howard then sign Ak-47 to play PF as he has always been a PF but forced to play SF on Utah bc of excess PFs. Your team would be an immediate playoff team and close to a contender.

In regards to Favors, Thank you very much, as he is clearly an NBA Allstar maybe even this year. The trade hopefully works out for both teams.

AK isn't underrated, he's older with a ton of mileage, he's extremely injury prone and he needs the ball in his hands to truly be effective.

He isn't much more then an average SF at any time in his career and as much as he excelled as a power forward he isn't an ideal one.

I love me some Favors, but All-Star this year? He may not even be starting for you guys. Extremely raw still, but a physical specimen.

Next to Dwight, he certainly would be an ideal PF. He is a weakside shot-blocker, a versatile man defender, a solid rebounder and a sneaky-good passer. I don't feel he needs to dominate the ball in order to take advantage of his court vision. Similar to Josh Smith, he is most effective as a secondary or tertiary ball-handler, who can execute either side (passing/finishing) of broken plays and fast breaks.

What's the deal with Kirilenko? With Okur's addition, does this effectively take the Nets out of the AK sweepstakes? If so, does this mean Kirilenko remains in Russia this year?

The Nets don't have the cap space to sign Okur, hell in my **** makeshift spreadsheet I'm still trying to piece together how they landed Okur

Someone's contract has to be smaller than is being reported or I have a typo or something :-?

BK should look into trying to dump Farmar and Petro so we free up enough room to sign AK. :D
