boris diaw - point and center (bonnell)

Post#1 » by fatlever » Sun Dec 18, 2011 6:19 pm

bonnell had a good read on diaw today
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/1 ... -diaw.html

boris may be frustrating, he may appear to be coasting, he may be a fattie in the offseason, but you really have to give it up to him for his attitude. guy never complains, never asks to be traded, never misses games and does all the little things that never show up in the boxscores. and now he is being asked to play center and he doesnt complain about it as usual.

Could he be the second point center of all-time? I've thought about this often and the only point center I've come up with is Chris Webber on the 93-94 Warriors. He played center and frequently brought the ball up the court. I even think that him and Billy Owens did it more that season than any of the Warriors actual point guards.

I imagine that confidence of Boris being resigned would be the only reason that he is not traded.

How much do you think Boris would command? I don't think we will resign him. Not with Thomas and DJ White (who we need to resign) on the roster.

What he commands might be very different to what I would be willing to pay!

"He can get a rebound, take it off the dribble, everyone else is zooming (down-court) and he can either make the pass or take it in and make the layup, himself," Silas described.

This describes the offense South Carolina ran in the Renaldo Balkman, Terrance Kinsey days. Balkman rebounds and immediately led the break. It is a dangerous scheme if utilized properly but I don't know if Diaw can make it work.

Depends really. If he gains 15 pounds, around 4-6 million. If he loses 15 down to 225 area, 5-7.5 or so as a versatile 6th man who can play all 5.

Different. Magic played C out of necessity sometimes. We're talking about Cs who play PG out of necessity sometimes.

Oh HEL* NO! Doris Meow hasn't changed a bit. He will forever be non-chalant, with no ambition for personal or team greatness. He is just not driven; he rests on the easy way he can use his multiple skills well enough to hang in there and get his paycheck. He is an expensive accessory piece on a team needing major contributions. I hope we can trade him in a package that brings us a legit 5. I certainly see no reason to re-sign this guy to be part of our future. He can be a good contributor to a playoff team and is an expiring, so his best value will be near the trade deadline.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

One time.

I love Magic.

Second best, right behind Jordan.

But I hated Jordan. Bird too.

*sigh* I miss these guys.

I wasn't alive, so I'm sure you'll understand if I missed a regular season game or two. I was hedging my bets.

That's a shame. The Lakers showtime team led by Magic was a thing of beauty.

How much do you guys think he'd ask for next summer? I'm looking to include him in my 2k12 season I'm about to start with the Lakers. If he asked for more than you were willing to pay...say approx 7 mil or so, would the Odom TPE (8.9 mil) and future picks work for a sign and trade? Just wondering.

If he's still on the roster then, I bet. Or it could be done this season even, round the trade deadline?
