so let`s say we end up with a top 3 pick after the lottery, would u guys trade that pick for a 5 or 6 + another one in the lottery so we could draft Barnes or MKG + Kabongo?

with a top 3 pick? no, I'd rather take one of the few guys at the top that look like star prospects (Drummond, Davis, PJIII). Besides, I think the Hornets are the only team that might be able to offer anything like that, and even that's iffy because both them and the Wolves could end up being pretty mediocre instead of truly crap teams.

Gilchrist has been seriously impressing me, I'm just worried about him becoming a premiere scorer which I have my doubts about. At this stage of the game we need a premiere scorer with no go-to scorer currently on the team.

MKG looks great, really do like him, but you can't be a franchise player as a wing without being an offensive force, not just a pretty good offensive player. We love perimeter defenders but there are 4 other guys to guard, it's not like he's a defensive big who can cover for others. But I think he's a 5-7 pick right now and I'd grab him there.

The problem is that as deep as this draft appears, it is short on superstar level talent. The "premiere scorers" aren't really asserting themselves. I' love it if a couple of the point guards - let's say Kabongo or Teague - have great seasons from here on in and push themselves into the discussion because a great point guard would help us immensely, too. Neither Kabongo or Teague are top 5 candidates, but if we fall out of the top 5, I'd like to have the option of a worthy point guard.

I too think that kabongo is a good option out of top 5..., kabongo's court vision, speed, and the way he runs the team is a PG upgrade over what we have. And trade for a solid SF if we can't get another draft pick. This Kabongo-Demar-SF-Andrea-Val lineup is the least lineup scenario I'd envision the team to be have but oh well we'll see.

It's 23-4 rebounding now. North Carolina has outrebounded Nicholls 15-4 in their own end.

This is one of those sham games that teams play early each season. I'm not going to watch it because it's out of control.

Yeah. Non-Conference ball can be stupid. Indiana up 52-15. How about UNC/Indiana? They were both available tonight when scheduling started and so was Indiana's building...

But Barnes still isn't looking special. Henson looks better again.

Barnes keeps this up, he'll fall out the top-10. He looks extra ordinary... like all the time.

My big board from what I've seen and read:
Tier 1:
Anthony Davis
Perry Jones
Jeremy Lamb
Tier 2:
MKG
Kabongo
Tier 3:
Miller
Drummond
Barnes

Drummond and Miller can skyrocket up there, but for now, you know? Also, I haven't seen Sully, Robinson, or Beal play so yeah lol.
FluLikeSymptoms wrote:But Barnes still isn't looking special.

Barnes has got to be one of the most overrated prospects ever at this point. He's looking like Marvin Willams with a 3 ball.

I really wanna see Drummond's next game and see if he's being more aggressive or was he just hot facing weaklings last game...if he consistantly hits 10+ pts and 7+ reb every game and have a better motor and feel for the game, then I'm back on his bandwagon.

There have been for the most part horrible basketball games the last week or so, and it will continue for most of the week.

Today;s docket of top 25 games was the most horrible of the year. Baylor playing freaking Paul Quinn. I'm not sure if that D2 or D3.

Some intriguing top 25 games this week before Christmas, but nothing major (overall weak)
St Mary's vs Baylor
Illinois vs Missouri
Creighton vs Tulsa
Charleston vs Louisville
Texas vs UNC
Florida St vs Florida
Memphis vs Georgetown
Cal vs UNLV
Baylor vs West Virginia

I think that last Baylor game may be round 1 of a tourney -- they may be playing Miss St in the next game which would be intriguing.

But after Christmas things get interesting quickly lead off by Kentucky vs Louisville.

UNC put Teen Wolf back in at point guard. Great move.

PJIII looking very passive tonight. Are they playing him at the 3? he is nowhere near the paint on D or O.

Quincy Miller looking more active, but the whole team is just feeding Acy who is killing whichever schmuck is guarding him with easy dunks.
