Player Outlook: Tracy McGrady

What do you expect from Tracy McGrady? What is a acceptable contribution from T-Mac?

I think T-Mac is a good pick up for the vet minimum but I hope most people are not expecting much from him. I did some research and at the same age Penny Hardaway averaged 8.7 pts 2.9 reb and 2.9 assists in 25:48 seconds. Honestly, I don't want T-Mac playing 26 minutes a game at this point in his career, but with the lack of guard depth and LD and Woody's love for creators and shot makers and 3 guard lineups I would not be surprised if T-Mac makes his way onto the court way too much. Keep him at around 20 minutes and I think he can be solid.

All that said, I expect about 8 pts 3 assists and 3 rebounds in about 25 minutes per game. That's a decent contribution, not exceptional not bad.

I think he'll put up 12 points 5 assist and 5 rebounds this season. If you look at his stats from last season, you see in the latter part of the season he was putting up 15-20 a game. Mcgrady is just a question though. He might break through this season since he is healthy and average 18, but I think 8,3, 3, is too low.

Looked done at the open run but that means nothing just like preseason

Tracy is someone that needs to be motivated to perform and the regular season will be the true test.

Damn near everyone looked done at the open. I was very disappointed. I felt like I was watching a young women's recreation team.

Yes, its only preseason but still I would have liked to see something better from T-Mac in gm 1 of the preseason, nothing really positive.
