How's DJ White going?

Post#1 » by Clangus » Tue Dec 20, 2011 2:57 am

I was a big fan of his n the Thunder. I always thought that given minutes he can contribtute. His jumper was solid and he rebounded well. How has he been for you guys (last season and presason?)

With Byron coming over too now, it made me think of DJ. I cant complain that we traded him because we have Collison (most under-rated defensive player in the L i reckon) and Ibaka.

So guys - do you love him? Hate him? Does he have a future with you?

DJW has a pretty solid following over here. We like him. His mid range J is money, he shows nice hustle. Would like to see him develop a bit of a back to the basket game.

great to hear. His defense is what cost him time on OKC. Has he improved?

Defensively, he's not spectacular but he gets the job done. What I like most about him is that he almost never makes a bad basketball decision. I'd like to see him learn some jump hooks and stuff.

I'ma big fan of DJ White, solid glue guy that teams need.

As of now i'd prefer him to start over Tyrus.

After one game...let alone a preseason? He probably just wanted to get a feel for his jumper. I admit he played bad tonight. Lets wait a minute before making such acquisitions.

Tyrus played tonight like he has his whole career, hoisting midrange j after midrange j & not going into the paint.

He had a nice block & a few nice outlet passes but showed little else & it's no surprise he got hurt.

DJ plays smart & within himself & also within a team concept. I'd prefer DJ at this point yes, we played much better as a team with him on the court.

No he's not but Tyrus is just that bad imo.

I don't want us to start a PF whose sole go too move is an 18 foot jumper.

Tyrus should be a bench player but White shouldn't start above him. Starting lineup entering the season should be:

DJ - Henderson - Maggette - Diaw - Diop

White and Thomas should split time depending on match up and ultimately one of them (preferably Thomas) needs to be dealt before the season is over like the Kings did with Landry last year.

Not sure if serious. If confused checked the Biyombo thread, you may missed some news.

I am for trying White as starting PF (just say Tyrus we don't want to rush him back with his sprain) especially as he is an expiring and we should find out how good he is and maybe lock him on longer contract before he gets much more value.

I was stunned how slim DJ is, I always though he is a heavier type.

Yeah, no. This is entirely baseless. Tyrus is a defender, scores on the break, has energy on both ends of the court, and can keep up with Kemba and DJ.

DJW's problem is that he just isnt that great

Tyrus just literally costs us many many possessions per game with his idiotic plays and turnovers

I don't realy have a preference for which one is onthe court. which is sad given their pay difference

Really don't get all the hatred toward Tyrus. Some of you are just looking for a reason to hate. Thomas is fine. Last game was a prime example of no practice time and that was obvious, pay attention.

:) :) :) Jariff's post is right on. Split TT and DJ time and then trade Thomas and his big contract if right opportunity presents itself later in season. The money we are paying TT should =25mpg 20 pts 10 boards, 2 blocks a night.
