Deal to Improve the Hawks Bench...

Post#1 » by pja123 » Tue Dec 20, 2011 4:44 pm

Hawks get:
Nate Robinson
Nazr Mohammed
Cole Aldrich

Thunder get:
Kirk Hinrich
Zaza Pachulia

WHY IT COULD WORK FOR THE HAWKS:
Losing Crawford's offensive spark from the bench could really hurt the Hawks this season. That's why picking up a major spark plug like Nate makes sense. He's definitely not as good defensively as Hinrich, but he can explode for 20 points on any given night. Losing Pachulia is tough, but they get back a good replacement in Mohammed. They also get a young 7'footer with decent upside in Alrdich.

HAWKS ROSTER:
PG-Teague/Robinson
SG-Johnson/McGrady/Stack
SF-Smoove/Williams/Sy
PF-Horford/Radmanovic/Rolle
C-Collins/Mohammed/Aldrich

I'd do it for the Hawks, but I seriously doubt that OKC would see Aldrich as a throw-in in any deal.

We need a starting SF or perimeter/stretch 4 bad.

Collins does not play. Vlad is still a 6'10 tweener and Smoove is a power 3 who should be relegated to garbage buckets. Not a SF.

Not trading youth of Pachulia for an older Mohammed on a team built to lose.

Better deals to be had out there IMO. Not really a fan of Nate either. Zaza and Hinrich are both expendable though. I agree with that notion

Nate Robinsons not able to see over the ping-pong table so it's a no for me. It's a standard in our locker room that you must play ping-pong.

On a serious note, I doubt OKC would be interested. They seem to think highly of Cole Aldrich and the return they receive won't really fill a need.
