Doesn't help us though. If his only option that has cap space is Sacramento, there's no way he can convince them to S&T him to us when we have absolutely no cap space. All it really does is help the Kings out in re-signing him at a cheap price.

The perfect scenario for us is a team like Houston being used as a bargaining chip, and him letting the Kings know he'll either leave for nothing or they can get a couple pieces back from us. And even then, it requires the Kings valuing Joel + Dexter more than just having nothing and saving that money.

Anyone think the Heat should look at Posey? I know he's almost the same as James Jones, but I feel like he's better at D than Jones is, and Miami already knows what he can do from the 3pt line. I don't know if its worth getting another forward but if he signs for cheap it might be a good pick up.

IMO, giving up our 2 centers for 1. Is short sighted. If doable, it would have to be Joel + Miller.

All it would take is for dalembert to go down, and we are worse off than we were last season.

Also, after all of the work we have put into pittman, and the promise he is showing as being a legitimate nba center sooner than later, it would really be a bad idea to give up our last big and talented young center prospect likely for years to come.

Two years from now, I honestly believe pittman will be as good as or better than dalembert. Especially considering his youth, work ethic, determination and good attitude, juxtaposed against dalembert being in his 30's and looking for money as priority #1.

I agree. I was all for Dalembert coming here if he was going to be taking less money, but I dont want him if it includes a S&T for one of our guys, definitely not Pittman. I think we need to just develop our own talent, we were 2 games away from a championship last year, and with that experience, continuity, and health, I believe we can take it all this year. I would've thought Dalembert would want to be apart of something like that, but like i said before, money talks.

And pass on Posey, between LeBron, Miller, Shane, and JJ this team has enough wings

I kind of soured on him. I'm looking forward. I think we will be okay. I'd rather go after kaman than dalembert at this point on a trade.

What you're referring to wasn't an article, it was a gag post I made in the "...Heat Options at Center" thread a couple of weeks ago.

I had Dalembert quoted as saying he wanted to go to Houston because they had a lot of money to offer. He never said that. It was a joke....

Gag Quote:

“Houston, that one is the best," said Dalembert. He later added, “I’m interested in the Rockets. They have a lot of money over there, a lot of money."

Don't get me wrong, I won't cry if we can't get Dalembert, that ship sailed a while ago, at this point it'd be dumb luck for him to fall back into our laps.

But I think you guys are crazy if you wouldn't give up a Joel/Dexter package for him. Obviously, the by-far best case scenario is Dexter develops into a good center for us, but that's just not very likely. The vast majority of youngsters never, ever pan out in the NBA, and Dalembert is a proven double-double guy already that fits everything we'd ask for in a center on this roster.

Or to put it another way... if Dalembert was actually signed to a deal already, and we were discussing a Joel+Dexter deal for him, the Kings would hang up the phone way, way, way before we did.

I'd give up Pittman in a split second to be able to acquire Dalembert. Not that he can't develop into a solid player, but Dalembert is already solid and provides a lot of what we're missing. You guys have to be joking. Dalembert would be the missing piece for this team.

Unfortunately this discussion is more than likely irrelevant.

The kind of player we hope Pittman develops into the kind of player Dally is. I would give up Pitt+Joel for him, but I don't see Sacramento taking our trash when they can just sign Sam to an extension and keep the better player.

OTOH, I will dance a jig if we get him. Cole+Dalembert round out our lineup nicely. That's dynasty material right there. :D PEACE.

i see your point but still i really want to keep Dex with us. i think if all goes well he could be as good as Sam by next season, and better then him on the following season. especially considering their ages.
I WOULD give up Mike Miller, sadly :( . we are LOADED on the SF, the best road for us would be geting his value back up when he returns and then trade him for a durable Sam type Center.

Had no idea it had spread. Still surprises me that people don't do a little background research before they run with something as fact. Life in the digital age...

I went with it, mostly because I figured Dalembert was kind of a knucklehead and it seemed like something he might say.

Also Mars is usually all about posting news, that one was very subtle for a joke.
