How's about we see how Jefferson plays when he's not next to a very rust Mehmet Okur before we trade him. Or after he's played with perimeter players that slash to the basket and create off the dribble.

And maybe then he will start playing any semblance of defense, start getting to the FT line, raise his FG% from "meh" to good, and not be a gaping black hole when the ball goes into his hands?

Yeah, I vote we give him another year. 7 is not enough to see what type of player he is.

Nope one game is all I need to throw all my rationality out the window, and start 5,000 threads about blowing up the team because I am a fan and I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT

While I don't think Monte is a player we should get, I hate when people say lets wait and see on veteran players. It never makes a difference because they are who they are. Jefferson is a guy who sucks at getting to the Free throw line, not good at defense, ect... He's not gonna all of a sudden change, they never do. Same thing Bulls fans said with Boozer "lets see how of a liability he is on defense next to Noah" and he was just as bad if not worse because he is who he is.

But yea I would be fine with FAVOR ..... UNLEASH!!!!!!!!!!!!! KANTER ...... GET DONUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All these big for small trades are a mistake--unless the small you are getting is stellar.

I would say Monta is stellar. Easily one of the top guards in the league.

After last night I am at the lowest I've ever been with Big Al. I like the guy and what he brings, but why can't he learn to box out? It's such a simple thing. Also, Big Al still panicked when he sees a double team. Both incredibly frustrating to see.

But, 29 teams would love to have big AL, only we - Utah Fans can see bad sides of his game.
What about Brooks Lopez? He got the same problems and can't box out. He is bad center? No, He is a future.
So How many centers were without a weekness?

I doubt 29 teams love Big Al as the Jazz basically gave away nothing to get him as no teams wanted him. Big Al is extremely over-rated.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

best low post scorer - check - 20 ppg
decent rebounder - check 8-9 rpg
decent shot blocker - check - 1.5 - 2 bpg

Over rated? What center is under rated? Nene, Chendler - who got big money this summer? But is that fair salary?

I think AL is a really good center and one of the best in the league that's for sure. He deserves his salary and expectations.
What do you want? Got guy who will score 30 + 15 + 4 - and pay him 15 mil?

A year isn't necessary, just more than one preseason game. Next to Favors his defense doesn't seem so bad, with slashers he has more options to pass too. It's not asking the impossible. Asking him to get to the FT line might be though, which is really too bad.

Ellis and Warriors are being sued for sexual harassment and coverup, respectively. Sounds like he allegedly sent graphic pics of himself.

So yeah, let's trade for this guy.

I thought this up. It's not great, we'd need hella picks to make up for losing Jefferson and Millsap. I do like our depth chart though. We have a lot of size and Lopez helps our defense out. The Turkish Towers should never be used though.

I really think Al is really being shopped after last night for couple reasons:

1. He slows done our offense so much. When he gets the ball in the post he takes so long to get positioned that its a stagnant on our offense.

2. With Favors putting up a game like he did against Portland (25 and 12) there is no reason to over pay Al for someone who can do almost the same thing if not better (+defense for Favors).

3. Al's value of trade I think is at its max right now and would be the best time to get the most value out of him.

I love Big Al and think he is a great player and guy but just does not fit in this system. We will see what happens but that's just my gut feeling.
