Dont Wait For A Loss Flip...............

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 3:40 pm

before you start NY. If NY is the guy that you think should be or will be the eventual starter then do it in game 1, espically in a shortened season. Dont wait for losses or for guys to struggle to make that switch. Right now NY clearly looks like the starter and I think JC would look better in a Ben Gordon type role off the bench where he can come in and heat it up. Its not just about those 2 but its also about the rest of the starters.

JC plays too much like Wall, doesnt compliment him at all, and doesnt stretch the floor for the other guys. Then you also have to realize that Wall is the Franchise guy and you have to do whats going to make him the best player he can be and that is clearly to have the bigger guy with the sweeter stroke in NY beside him. Not only that but if NY is coming off the bench then his minutes will be limited while if he starts then you can just play him longer if he's doing well or bring him out earlier if he's struggling. Id rather he have the chance for the bigger minutes and only the starter gets that.

If Shard keeps looking lifeless though, I wouldnt mind going small at times eitehr with NY at the 3 and JC at the 2 but I think Shard would even look better with NY starting. It wouldnt be so bad if JC wasnt trying to live up to the MJ hype and not shooting non stop but if we are going to have a gunner, I think everyone will rather have NY be that since he can actually shoot it. You can also tell that teams just fear him more. They play us different on D when he's out there. It will open things up for everyone else. Dont wait and use his legs or anything else as an excuse. We dont have time for that in a shortened season and a bad start could set everyone back.

Be smart Flip. Your system is already looking suspect again at times so you atleast have to get this right or you might be out. Wall said after the game that they are still trying to figure out the roles and who is going to be what scorer. All that will be quickly helped out by JC getting in his 6th man role like everyone knows he should be. You can also tell that the other 4 guys on the court respect NY's game more. Its like they dont mind if he shoots or they look at him as that scorer but with JC they kinda cringe and when he misses, they feel like they shouldve got that shot. If NY misses they dont feel like that

Agreed. I think a Wall NY Shard AB(or booker) Mcgee line up has potential to win some games. There were a few great moments last season where nick got hot which allowed shard wide open looks and wall easy penetration. It was a great flash of what this team could do when the floor is spread properly.

Don't worry, Young will be starting soon-enough and JC will be coming in to jack-shots. Who I don't want to see is Shat, OMG is he done. Shat should be a situational player NOT a starter.

If only Booker had shooting and handles to go along with his smarts and energy (same for Ves ), I would plug him in for the lumbering AB. AB ain't cut-out for the running -game

No more minutes for Turiaf unless someone is injured, I'd rather lose with Seraphin learning from every game.

I think the Wizards have to start off playing competent players where possible. Otherwise too much of the season is garbage time. Now if they are 10-40, I think you start to look at development in addition to expected performance.

Why would anyone think that Nick won't be starting in the opener?

I agree. It should be "shat" because, clearly, the action all happened in the past.
