A second round pick for a center prospect is great business.

I like this trade & it could pay huge dividends, if anything he'll get a lot of PT to develop.

It would be if it wouldn't be for Mullens. I would kind of rather have Tyler or someone else picked in second round - but we were shorthanded at C, so that's why we didn't wait and trade for one. If that cash received meant solution for Bismack buyout issues than great A+ move. It hard to trash this move but I have zero expectation. Then again if we ever hand coaches capable of making big men better it is the current bunch even without Oakley.

I'd rather have Tyler too. I definitely agree.

Hum :-? :o I LIKE THIS Mullens... Forget his Inside Banging for now we got a signed BB for that.
Mullens was the #2 High school recruit two years ago when Ohio State got him.
He has a good outside shot and can rebound.

I do indeed believe Cho has another trade in the works. I think it involves either DJ Augustine or Diaw or both.??.
I wonder if Cuban would Take Dj and Diop for Kidd. Does Dallas still have an Amensity card left. Cuban could waive Diop and pickup a new young point guard in DJ getting value for Kidd. We would have Kidd this one year to mentor Kemba at the point and Sign Ben Uzoh as third guard....THINK OF THE CAP SPACE then we free up next year!

Dont mean to spoil your fun but can't amnesty players you just traded for and Dallas aren't trading Kidd.
They're loading up with veterans for another try at the title.

Part of the adjustment was Mullens’ offensive skill set didn’t fit the Thunder’s idea of a center.
“They wanted me to be a back-to-the-basket kind of big, which takes away most of my game,’’ Mullens described. “I’m a face-up kind of guy, a step-out-and-knock-down-shots guy.’’

Great, so we got Primoz Brezec 2.0

I have a feeling I am not really going to like this kid that much.............

I'm fine with a big who incorporates face-up moves and jumpers (provided he can hit them consistantly a-la Kaman or DJW) into his game.

However, if it appears he is eschewing post-ups all together, I'm not going to be happy. Malik Allen types who have no offensive skill set beyong mid range jump shots are a dime a dozen.

If you can establish position on an opponent on the block and shot a jump hook that they cant challenge, you should be doing so every time down the floor.

He is yet to recognise what the tough means, Bismack in practice is no friendly prison bandwagon. I kind of find the whole prison story odd and weird, I´m not against giving those guys something to looking forward but he should rather work on his position bread and butter than playing in-game horse against himself trying to find out whether he can shoot treys and risking injury and thus putting his career in risk in meaningless games.

this jailcat sorely needs a nickname

I kind of thought of Roster Inmate but that would be too long for frequent use and his contract is nor that long or big.

A big pick-and-pop guy might complement Biyombo a lot. I'd force this kid to watch some Vlade Divac, Brad Miller, Arvydas Sabonis film so he can feed BB from the high post all day.

Both T2 and DJW can pick and pop just fine.

With Biz on the roster I think that Mullens will be a nice change of pace off the bench. The guy is very athletic and has offensive skill. He has a strong jumpshot and a good feel for the basket. He's not a banger inside, but we don't necessarily need that. Now-a-days I think it may even more be more advantageous to have a big who can stretch the floor with his shot making ability because it clears out the lane for a driving player like Kemba. Excited to see both Mullens and Biz play.

But if Biz isn't cut out for center (we still don't really know) then it might be nice to have a C who shoots and passes.

I don't think Mullens is good though.

^ This is why I advocated Hawes who is a great passing and shooting big who also has some post skills. If Biz turns out to be more of a four, we could leave the banging and dirty work to him and have used Hawes as a high post center similar to Vlade.

Philly signed him to the qualifier for this year (had 14/9 and first preaseason game and 13 rebs in game two).

I havent seen enough of Mullens to really assess his game yet but I'd like to see them post him up repeatedly tomorrow night to guage what (if anything) he can do.

I think with Mullens, Biz, Diop, and Ely getting minutes at the Center we will not see Boris there at all tomorrow night. Considering TT and Najera are out.

My hope is that we see much more of Biz and Mullens and less of Diop/Ely. This year is about young guys...let them play. I think Silas understands that. I also think Mullens might get extra attention/playing time because of his connection to Silas from High school.
