Heat Interested in Kyrylo Fesenko?

ESPNSteinLine

Rockets' signing of Dalembert takes them out of Kyrylo Fesenko bidding, but hearing Heat and Warriors still pursuing Ukranian free-agent C

I believe his name has been mentioned in a previous thread. So let's settle this. Are you in favor of signing the big guy? Yay or nay?

I know these are just mixes, but the hell with it:

How much did he make last year? He looks very solid from watching those videos. I have only seen a few games with him and i have to say he is pretty good.

Yesssssssssss!

The Warriors are already over the cap. They are at $59 mil according to HoopsHype salaries, and the salary cap for this season is $58 mil. The Warriors just signed Kwame Brown too.

So all the Heat have to do is convince him to play here instead of with the Warriors since the money would be the same. Bring up the FL Tax laws?

Good to hear we've shown interest. He may not be a well known guy, but all of those types are already taken and at this point we need another center.

I wanted him in the previous thread. Sign him up.

Not sure, he played very few minutes for the Jazz but for getting around 8min a game he doesn't seem to have horrible stats. I'm most concerned about rebounding more than anything though, that is what we need most!

I'd honestly be pretty damn pleased with signing Fesenko. He's a legit 7 footer with a decent wingspan. He's also not a heavy footed brontosaur like most of the guys we've had, he's pretty quick on his feet for someone his size and bulk. He's also a pretty good post defender. Unfortunately he's comparable to Nene when it comes to rebounding, which is not impressive whatsoever. He makes up for that with being a damn good passer.

Apart from his passing though he's downright putrid offensively. Terrible free-throw shooter, can't finish at the rim very well, as well as horribly foul and turnover prone. Unlike Joel though he does roll to the rim hard and has decent hands, so he does pick up garbage points every now and then when defenses sag off of him.

He doesn't pull a lot of boards nor does he block shots very well, but just from being such a huge presence in the middle with long arms and relatively quick feet he makes an impact on defense. He also wasn't particularly professional or motivated in Utah, so when he sees gym rats like Wade, LBJ, Bosh, and Joel Anthony along with Riley and Spo on his ass he could shape up to be a good player for us. He's a damn good backup center that happens to be better than what we're running with now unless we play Bosh at the 5.

It really doesn't matter what he does for another team, the same questions reman

1. Will he be allowed to do the same here?
2. Will he be forced to run out to the perimeter to hedge out?
3. Will he get hurt trying to pick up our complex defensive schemes?
4. will he get any burn or will he be a situational "stay ready" player?

Not excited anymore about any additional signings. Our key FA's are on the bench with stupid injuries sustained in PRACTICE.

P.S. I like this guy

We actually have a history of this, after awhile you can't keep blaming the players. I watch the other FA acquisitions and it seams a lot of them fit in quicker with their new teams and have less injuries SO SOON in practice.

But...FA's are lining up to play with us RIGHT?

Doesn't help when you're running spartan practices and consistent 2 a days.

Anybody 7 feet is better than Joel at this point. Even Gladness has been better than Joel, and this is becoming about rebounding more than scoring. Have to have a real 7 footer. If this doesn't work out, Pittman should get the majority of the minutes.

I voted sure why not, because sure why not. He's a legit sized big man. Plus he runs the floor well.

Funny guy too it seems.

I agree with everything u say here, plus add that BOSH does not need to sniff C when you have legit C on the roster (DEX/CURRY, etc.)

I am going to get slammed for this but .....

Chris Bosh will be the downfall of this team. He is getting paid as much as LeBron/Wade. For a "big man" making max money, he's soft, has no post up game, and can't hoard rebounds.

At this point, I would love to just have Chris Bosh disappear and split his 15 mil salary between 2-3 players. or Dwight Howard.

The Heat are going to continue to be in this "mess" because of Bosh's situation. The Heat have no money to spend and our "big man max contract" can't impact the game enough

While I see your point, Bosh is very skilled BUT we do not play to meet his skills which is why I think that Amare would have been a better choice, not a better player, for how Pat likes to run his teams...Bosh is finesse and the Heat is not a finesse team.

Is he good? No but could he help? YES! Joel Anthony sucks which means, we should be looking at every center that is allowed to play in the NBA. Fesenko doesn't have much to offer but he does bring one thign and thats size. Hopefully Eddy Curry gets in shape and show Riley that his the answer but till then, I'm ok with this signing.

He's a legit 7 footer, and he's only 25 years old? Sign him up!

I'm pretty sure we can mold him into a 8 point, maybe 10 rebound type of guy. If we get him, our lineup is set.
