Larry Hughes' brief time running point vs Heat [video]

Just wanted to point out that Larry was making EXCELLENT plays with our bench players.
You can tell he is more creative than Jameer and could give us a very good spark in an important game.
I love the way he would actually pass to the guy that screened for him. That got us some great looks for guys and especially Ryan when he rolled or popped out.

I'm guessing we'll still be seeing a lot of Duhon since Larry doesn't know the system fully just yet and that's how Stan rolls.
Let's hope Duhon becomes 6th string or something.

OT - I'm working on a little magic video you guys will enjoy that should be released within the end of the week.

I was very surprised by Larry's performance last night. I think he could give us some good minutes off the bench and should definitely play above DuDu at the PG position.

he read lanes very well, and i would to see him play with Dwight in some stretches, and i am with the rest of you, Duhon should not see the floor no more.

Yeah it's clear he should be backup PG over Du Du. My brother was saying Hughes looked a little like 76er's Larry Hughes, making plays, getting steals(he had 2 in that video^) and scoring a couple of pts.

Redick should have had an And 1 on that 3 he made at :57 Secs.

Larry is the kind of guy who is going to be frustrating a lot of you later in the season. But yes, on the bright side, he did look a lot better and much more useful than Duhon.

and on top of that... he'll always have a size advantage at PG... his height and length is a plus

He has better court vision than Jameer Nelson. He's a better and more willing passer than Jameer Nelson. Obviously, though, he's past his prime athletically and can't get past his man like Jameer can (read: can, not does. Jameer rarely wants to get by his man).

I doubt very much Hughes would play that well nightly and make consistently smart decisions with the ball like that, so I think Jameer should continue to start. However, if Hughes DID indeed consistently play like that, I'd take him as our starter without blinking an eye.

Quite a few nice plays from Hughes it would have been even more impressive if they could have finished a few of those plays for him, definitely back up pg for us, I just cant believe SVG thinks DuDu is any better

Yeah, Hughes over Duhon. Though that isn't really saying much.

We'd be better off letting the other team have a power play than putting Duhon in the game.
