Re: Off Topic IV
i was picking 10th. i knew i had zero chance at getting tristan, williams and kemba, so putting biz number 2 was more for shock value. but i really do need the blocks and a young big man.

The comments are funny too. Loved the first one from Vicky Berg.
I have no sympathy for this guy. Selling illegal drugs and then munching on an oz of cocaine from his brothers butt. Not exactly a productive member of society. Saves the law abiding tax payers a lot of money too.

Wow, refs actually made a good call. I'm surprised. Great defensive play, imho more impressive then the leap.

Re: Off Topic IV
From an article about changes in court, logo, jersey designs:
http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/story/_/i ... -12-season
"Also, the Bobcats are one of nine teams that will be unveiling ABA throwbacks later this season. The good news is that most of them -- including the one the Bobcats will be wearing -- are very, very good. The bad news is that they're all NOPE, which stands for Not Open for Public Exposure. In other words, nobody's allowed to talk about them yet. Further details when the gag order is lifted."
Wow! As a huge ABA fan, I can't wait to see those Carolina Cougars (coached by the beloved Larry Brown) jerseys. Here's Billy "The Kangaroo Kid" Cunningham rocking it:

Re: Off Topic IV
i read something about this the other day on twitter, but i was confused because they linked pics to new logos and the nascar jersey. i guess thats because the aba throwbacks are not yet to be unveiled. this should be fun and a great marketing tool to spike jersey sales. i mean, who doesnt want a cougars biymobo jersey.

Re: Off Topic IV
We've been talking about this for a couple of days over on BCP. The general thought is that a lot of the throwback jerseys are locked on 2K12, but some of the PC guys have gotten to them.
Here are the updated NASCAR unis (no checkered flag on the side, but with a patch)

And here are the throwbacks:

The necks on our 1st year revamped uni's were much better than the current ones IMO.

That could be my favorite book of all-time. Period. I'm talking about basketball, novels, sports, everything, I can't think of a book that I enjoyed more than the ABA one. When I read it, the only thing I want to do is to read it again. I think that I like it even more than Simmons's BoB.

Re: Off Topic IV
its really amazing to read how disorganized the whole league was. they had no clue what they were doing. and stupid george mikan could have landed kareem for the ABA but he was a complete dumbass and never gave kareem the offer the league had prepared. he tried to lowball kareem and kareem took the better off with the NBA. how things would have been different if kareem landed in the ABA.
And amazing how close Dr J was to playing in atlanta with a young pete maravich. Dr J actually played in the preseason with atlanta before they made him go back to the ABA. speaking of Dr J, amazing how NOBODY knew who he was. ABA teams were drafting him based on reading stories. The first time the Virginia ABA team saw him play was the first day of training camp and they were like OMFG!!!!! and still after he was already in the ABA and averaging 30 and 18 people were still like "who the hell is this guy and why havent we heard of him until now?"
just crazy stuff.
