I still think Iceness is underrating Finley. He is having a down year and will still have 55 catches, probably should've been a low 60 catch season. It seems like he was known for having great hands until 2 weeks ago. I bet he bounces back next year with a 65-70 catch season

How is it stupid if it's right? I picked the Eagles and Bears to finish out of the playoffs too and the Bengals to finish 8-8, is that just as stupid?

Let's say Finley goes up to a 72 receptions for 1076 yards and 9 TD season next year on the franchise tag--which is absolutely within his ability. Now the price tag goes up to at least $7M/yr. This comes at the same time you have to pay Jennings, Clay, and Raji and maybe Rodgers. That's pushing all the big cap hits together. That's why you either sign Finley this offseason or you let him go. The franchise tag is only a "lose" situation for the Packers. You're either going to overpay him for a year or have him have a much more negative cap impact down the line.

That was my way of admitting I was wrong and I shouldn't doubt you. I agree about resigning Finley this offseason, his cost will never be lower and if he's too expensive you can replace him.

I let him test market but it only takes 1 team to make a big offer. We'll see how he plays the rest of the way but at this point very liekly he's not back.

Wells is a must.

All I've seen in that regard is people speculating he MIGHT try to do that, nothing definitive from his camp leaked through the media.

Sorry but burden of proof is on you when you make some claim like that.

i.e. Rodgers is demanding a trade, do a search if you need the proof.

EDIT: not saying it isn't true but its absolutely absurd to make an argument and then expect others to search for the proof backing up your argument, horrible debating/discussion tactic.

I personally like Ryan Taylor as a lot more than just a Special Teams guy. He's there right now because he's a rookie, but I think he has potential to be an above average starting TE.

chuckleslove & Ayt, et. al. as instructed

Finley confirmed that if the Packers tag him, his agent probably will file a grievance to upgrade the tag to a wide receiver’s tender, which is estimated at about $9.4 million for next year.
The CBA says that a franchise player’s tender will be for the position at which he played the majority of his snaps the previous year. Finley will argue that he lines up more as a split receiver than as an in-line tight end.
