fatlever wrote:its really amazing to read how disorganized the whole league was. they had no clue what they were doing. and stupid george mikan could have landed kareem for the ABA but he was a complete dumbass and never gave kareem the offer the league had prepared. he tried to lowball kareem and kareem took the better off with the NBA. how things would have been different if kareem landed in the ABA.

And amazing how close Dr J was to playing in atlanta with a young pete maravich. Dr J actually played in the preseason with atlanta before they made him go back to the ABA. speaking of Dr J, amazing how NOBODY knew who he was. ABA teams were drafting him based on reading stories. The first time the Virginia ABA team saw him play was the first day of training camp and they were like OMFG!!!!! and still after he was already in the ABA and averaging 30 and 18 people were still like "who the hell is this guy and why havent we heard of him until now?"

just crazy stuff.

What I love the most is the stories on the Spirits of St. Louis. I feel bad for the coaches that had to try coach those knuckleheads.

Would went different way positionally but you guys kept some players that should have been gone by that time in my opinion so I went with them and waited a round or two with some picks (and that cost me some late round addition). Should have sticked to BPA of my draftkit more but not dissapointed no. I guess I might do some tweaks. Some people I am confident to overpower, some have decent squads (you included).

For fat: joining you on Fantasy Team Biyombo (although I haven´t really need him as I got blocks from Josh Smith, Ibaka, McGee and Dalembert too).

didnt expect to be able to pick both Nash and Ibaka in third round. That pushed other picks a round later and I thought I won´t be able to pick both Gallinari an Matthews (i was willing to pick one of them having the other as plan B). Should have picked some PGs earlier when they were plenty but it looked like i can wait. Wanted Monroe, waited one round too many.

I couldn't pass on Aldridge at 22 so I knew Nash was going to be gone, but I was really hoping Ibaka would be available at 39. THEN I thought Wes Matthews had already been picked when I went at 62, so I picked Jennings for the trade I'm waiting on to go through.

Both were really good picks. Looking at it, we both have really similar teams and we definitely have the deepest big man rotation. Mine offer more rebounding in points, but you'll pretty much dominate the blocks cat all season.

I'm waiting on you to nab Vesely off the wire

I'm not in the league or anything, but I think you're right. I don't see him getting a lot of stats.

Merry festive season to all my Bobcats board homies - but especially to e4Nf6, because I know what it's like.

It's Christmas, but it's just not quite Christmas..........

Yes mate.

I find that being away from home this time of the year resonates more than any other time of the year.

I don't know if I mentioned it on here but I moved back to Charlotte recently. I am in Mexico right now but only for Christmas/New Years visiting the in-laws. I'd be lying if I said it was my first choice of places to be on Christmas but I owe it to my wife to come back once and a while with her.

BTW, I think it was you who said that getting her green card would be an adventure.

You. Weren't. Kidding.....

Oh, I didn't realize you were back home full time. Last we spoke about it you were just about start up the immigration process for your wife and and just scratched the surface of how much of a major pain in the arse it is.

I'm glad to hear you are both living state side now though. That's great news - congrats!

he deserves it.

seeing this kinda makes me sad about two things
1) i wish we had more passionate fans. its getting there... slowly, but still a long way to go. i think back to games 5 years ago, and while the attendance is about the same, there are many more hardcore fans at games now than 5 years ago. hopefully one day we get there.

2) i wish crash hadnt played so awful to start the season last year. lets be honest, he was crap. and his poor play had a part in the downward spiral of that playoff team.

i hope he gives the blazers one last amazing year in spring 2012 before they suck balls is 2012-13 season.

Agreed.

I stayed home tonight though. Played some PC with friends and had a nice bottle of special water. Neighbors did fireworks so I got a free show.
