I totally agreed with u on that one. I think that this is the final year of this core, one way or another. I believe that Atlanta has to do something.

I understand what you are coming from but at the same time, you sound like ASG right now, content to a second-round Hell. Right now, a decision has to be made, get past the second round or just stay as is and contiune to be the butts of jokes by other folks. I like to have D12 but at the same time, without him saying that he is willing to stay, itis a crap shot.

How do I sound like the ASG? Because I am not willing to throw our future away for a player who might or might not be here in a year? Dwight has said zero that would lead me to believe he would sign here. He hasn't said he wants to return, he hasn't picked Atlanta as one of the trade destinations, none of that. Just because he was born and raised here, it doesn't mean he is going to want to stay in Atlanta. Would I trade for Dwight? Sure I would. I just don't think giving up Hinrich, Horford, and Teague while taking back Jameer is exactly the way to go. We would be very similar to the Magic team from last year. We would still be the 3rd best team in the East (or 4th with NY being ahead of us). If Dwight was to agree to an extension with that package...sign me up.

i can't believe that you just said that Horford, Smith, and Joe is a decent future :nonono:

it is defiantly similar to how the ASG was thinking, like when they gave Joe his new contract :noway:

I have to agreed as well, besides with all the roster moves they have done today, it looks like it is going to be major changes if the Hawks doesnt pass the second round this year.

Because what future we have if we always lose in the second round besides it has to happen. They will lose more fans, FA doesnt want to come, Smith leaves and etc, etc, etc, then we be back to pre-2000 anyway. Hawks needs to be playing for a championship, not a Second Round Banner and if we have to, then any means necessary, even give up the future for the now(if he wants to stay with us).

i know its risky but I think you do this trade . if for no other reason you show the fans you're trying to win a title and not be average . the hawks have no other way to be a contender , they dont have capspace to add great players . they are to good to get a superstar from the draft so trades are all we have .

Where did I say it was a decent future? The part you underlined was me saying that we would be giving up our future...aka Teague and Horford for a 1 year rental of Dwight with no guarantee that he is here after this next season.

You should do it. Otis Smith would be all over that maybe take that JJ contract as well.

looks like Dwight is not going to be a Laker.

Jim Buss stated that he already talked to Dwight , and Dwight told him he was not going to resign with LA if the Lakers traded for him.

im more than 100% okay with Horford for Dwight Howard with no extension

I agree with the comments I would rather go for it all for one year then be stuck in second round hell for years to come, also even if Howard walks and we get into the lotto we at least have a chance at a superstar in the lotto instead being in the mid 20's in the draft with a second round ceiling

Just one game, I know, but the way the Magic look right now, ORL management may be forced to start the rebuilding project now. The longer they wait, the worse their draft pick will be.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

i agree , howard is good but 1 guy cant carry a team . i can see the magic giving it a few weeks hoping howard will reconsider but if he doesnt and they continue to play the way they are tonight i think they will blow this team up and start over . i feel kinda bad for magic fans they lost shaq and now on the verge of losing the current best big man in the league . not sure why , i would think orlando would be a great place to play .

after tonight, Hawks will have no problem in resigning Dwight and showing that the Hawks will be a contender and championship team, better than the Heat, if he joins the Hawks
