Re: LAL@Kings - Monday, Dec. 26, 2011: game one
I'm kinda nervous to see how Salmons will fit with this lineup. We never saw him in action because he was out with an injury during the preseason. I hope he understands that we don't need his offense as much as we need his defense & 3PT. If does that well, he would be fine..

Yeah, I would like to see that. But I rather let Salmons get that assignment though. Reke should expand most of his energy on his offense (& creating plays for others). While Salmons should expand most of his energy on defense (& 3s).

All I want is for Reke not to have his 1v5 moments when he forces bad shots and ignores everyone on the court and show he improoved his decision making. which is godawful.

If reke improves his decision making, including shot selection, he can lead this team to great things.
I'm excited for the season. We finally have knockdown shooters in MT, salmons, and Jimmer. With our ability to now spread the floor our bigs need to be willing passers and we can bring the fun back to Sac.

All good defensive teams rotate defenders on the best players. I suspect Salmons will get most of the action guarding Kobe, but expect to see a lot of Reke on him as well as Thornton in spots too.

Man, this is a let down. I thought a-rod was gonna make a game thread. I had a sick game thread idea planned, but, I just figured it'd get locked up since I was beat to it, already. It was gonna be a 'here we stay,' 'black-out,' type theme. Ohh, well.

God I hope we don't see Thornton on him. He's a better defender than other fans thought he was last year, but he's still not like...."good." And there are plenty of weak wing players on the Lakers to stick him on.
The hierarchy for guarding Kobe should be as follows:
Salmons
Tyreke
Donte
Cisco
Outlaw
Convincing Metta World Peace that the last few years have all been a hallucination and that he is still on the Kings, only now he is physically unable to shoot.

Too much standing around when Cousins gets the ball. Cousins has no choice but to take a bad shot.

An encouraging start. I really like what I am seeing from Tyreke. He seems to be effectively playing within himself. I think Jimmer is a bit trigger-shy to start. He has turned down a couple good looks.

Lead at the end of the first Q, and we've missed a ton of open shots. But I like what I see so far.
