hahaha, what a sweet night tonight was, man it feels good to have a young team (youngest in the NBA) with a **** ton of cap space as tradeable assets that we don't even need in Garcia/Greene.

I'll be watching you guys with some interest this year. You signed my favourite (Ex-Rocket) player. Chuck Hayes is a beast, and you are damn lucky to have him. He'll become one of your favourites, his play is infectious.

And is there any other team that has more talent 1 through 12 than us? Garcia won't ever see playing time. We're too deep lol

Reke really played within himself today btw.

I was pleasently suprised tbh - I just hope this is gonna be a consistent thing and not those annoying 1 game flashes he has sometimes... he really showed more thought, was not selfish, didn't get caught up in the moment and go into his 5v1 mode, let the gave flow and blend in it without forcing himself.

Absolutely love that Tyreke.. long may it continue with the focus on defence and playing smarter on unselfishly on offence.

And am I the only one still shocked we got to see a genuine PNR play?! I mean what was that Westy?! :D

The pick setting just really opened our offence up, be it to penetration or spotup shooting... you can really see how importent that pick can be if done properly... so underrated quality... Big Cuz showed he already startin to learn from Chuck in training. 8-)

Their help defense was beyond solid and Hayes' help D was off the charts. Many times he stepped in the lane to help and deterred open shots. Not just his blocks or charges, but many times. They did pretty well on the pick and roll as well and Tyreke was just a complete ball hawk. Salmons was great on Kobe as well.

Please enlighten me as to the pleathora of offensive weapons the Lakers had that the kings stopped. Because there was only one guy who got shut down: Pau. Artest, the only other offensive weapon aside from Kobe, had his way, and Kobe being old, injured, and his chucking self, still managed 29 points on 42% shooting (not unlike him). Not to mention, Brown has no offensive coaching ability. Please.

The best thing is the commitment and how the team was playing as a unit on defense, even when Westphal starting to mass substitute they didn't completely fall apart, even though that kind of subbing can destroy team defense and offense.

I'm not arguing that the team looked bad. I'm saying that there's still a lot of room to improve, and that they aren't winning anything until they improve those areas.

You see things differently clearly, it was about how bad the Lakers were, not how good the Kings are. Good for you, you live in your world then. Tomato or tomato, chicken or the egg, many a debate that ends up nowhere, except of course this has a direct and correlatable end result but hey, denial is the most sincerest form of delusion.

We'll see how it develops but Hayes is the exact kind of player you want next to Cousins. It all depends on Cousins though and how far he develops, I personally believe he will.

Man, I completely forgot about Garcia during the game. I don't even think he was suited up.

It's truly a thing of beauty when the both of us can agree on something.

I also agree with an earlier point you made that it probably will be a rough season, but unlike in recent seasons, the losses we'll have will be attributed more to a lack of experience and chemistry (both of which will come in time) rather than a lack of talent.

Cisco suited up.

And as for the whole discussion, let's first be careful about how we talk to each other. Same team, guys.

But I'd again point to what I and others were saying. The rebounding problem wasn't with our bigs--it was that we went small when we didn't need to. We have 4 bigs all capable of playing big minutes and all at least solid rebounders. I understand the idea of playing Outlaw at PF, but outside of very specific situations, I don't think we should do it. And along with that, I don't like our backcourt going small with any consistency.

Evans
Thornton
Salmons
Hayes
Cousins

Thomas
Jimmer
Outlaw
Hickson
Thompson

We have a solid 10 man rotation, it would seem, with Greene and Garcia on the outside looking in. Which is a big plus, considering all the back-to-backs we're gonna be facing this season. We won't HAVE to run anybody ragged because of our depth, unlike most other teams. I think that alone may give us somewhat of a slight advantage going forward.

Those solid role players in Greene and Garcia could get us something mid season and some great projects in Whiteside and Honeycutt that can help us down the road.

Getting schooled by a 2nd round draft pick rookie on a few possessions?
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Thanks for the insight. Hope that helped you sleep at night. I swear some lakers fans don't so much like the lakers as much as they want to **** Kobe.

How many teams have an 11th or 12th player that are as talented as Donte or Francisco? Again, these two are now our ELEVENTH and TWELFTH string guys. Our goal now should be to consolidate talent, but 1-12, we sure are good.
