Kings @ Blazers
If someone wants to make an actual game thread of this, have at it. I just figured I'd get it started.
Rose Garden, 7:00 PM.
Kings Starters
Evans
Thornton
Salmons
Hayes
Cousins
Key Reserves
Thomas
Fredette
Outlaw
Hickson
Thompson
Blazers starters
Felton
Matthews
Wallace
Aldridge
Camby
Key Reserves
Smith
Crawford
Batum
Thomas
Keys to the Game:
Kinda hard to say since we don't totally have a feel for both teams at this point. I'd like to see us run some more of our offense this time instead of relying on our perimeter guys to make tough plays. Also would really like to see the rebounding improve. Let's limit the small ball.

Re: Kings @ Blazers
We need to really box out on Crash and not allow him to beat us in the hustle stats. Should be fun showing Crawford what he's missing. Maybe he saw the playing time would be minimal with Reke, MT, Jimmer and Salmons. This one should be a good game. I think we pull this out in the end around 107 - 98.

Re: Kings @ Blazers
I'm looking forward to watching Hayes vs. Aldridge. I hope to see Hayes apply a heavy dose of steady D against Aldridge and Cousins to stay out of foul trouble.
Also it will be interesting to see Jimmer vs Crawford. I know some on these boards were torn between the two. Tonight we get to see them battle it out.

It's always tough to play in Portland. I think we'll see a close game.
I'm also looking forward to seeing Chuck vs. LMA.

Re: Kings @ Blazers
Pretty confident we're gonna loose this one, but I just wish we'll be close and competitive and not collapse, and see the same from our young stars in decision making and calm, esp Tyreke.
Hope Jimmer gets more aggressive coming out of those screens too, that can really open things up for us.
Dally was prolly the anti-LMA last year, so it'll be interesting to see how Chuck handles him.. LMA in general should be a tough matchup for Chuck as he's money on that jumpshot.

Just wanted to say good luck tonight, and let you all know how happy I am that Dally isn't there to guard Aldridge tonight

Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Good luck to you as well, since you'll need it against Chuck Hayes

I think Aldridge is going to give us fits since his game is not necessarily predicated on deep post position. He can easily shoot over Hayes. I would be interested to see Cousin's get some time guarding Aldridge.

We are also happy Dally isn't anywhere near a Kings uni.

Well with a player of LMA's caliber you should never really be surprised if he has a good game but Chuck is more than just a back-down, post defender. His lateral quickness is off the charts for a man with his frame and position, just look how well he's defended Amare who I think has a fairly similar play style to LMA.

Re: Kings @ Blazers
Dally gave him fits due to his length. Aldridge has done pretty well shotting over smaller PFs, but I expect him to have to work pretty hard for it.

I can't see Salmons handling Crash tonight. Might need to see more of Outlaw and Donte.

The Kings won't be able to rely on the energy that they had last night, now it's a test on how much they are going to remember from practice on how to set eachother up.
If Aldridge wan't to hang out on the perimeter all night I say put Cousins on him.

Grudge match. I could see Salmons being more effective at the 2 tonight with Outlaw at the 3. We might be favoring a "BIGGER" line-up tonight with Hickson and Thompson getting more burn as well as Outlaw. Love to see Trout get the better of his former team tonight!

I want to see some 3's from Jimmer! I also hope DeMarcus can handle his fouls tonight because were gonna need him tonight.

I watched the game for a second time. Jimmer had a couple good looks but passed them up to try for a better one. Most of the time he failed. If he can learn to take that first open opportunity we will see Jimmer Time tonight

Yeah, the good thing is, Jimmer wasn't being Jimmer and playing his game. As far as LA goes, Chuck needs just body him up as soon as he touches the ball. It will be a tough match up though tonight. The Blazers have some great athletes.
