the way things are shaping up, it looks like von wafer and larry hughes will be our "designated saviors" for the season. kinda makes you wonder what happened to earl clark.

Re: Larry Hughes Starting Would Make Jameer A GREAT 6th Man
Hughes should NOT start over Jameer but he should be getting the 16 or so backup mins per game.
Nelson/JRich/Hedo/BBD/Howard - 1st unit
The game should start with an emphasis of Hedo driving, dribbling up, looking for Howard in the post mixed with Jameers driving and kicking the ball back out. I would also like to see JRich and Hedo post up more. They both did it like once in last game and they both scored. They both have a height and/or weight advantage against 2's and 3's. Throw in BBD's mid range game and surprising ability to slash to basket some for layups, the stretch four doesnt have to be our live or die way of playing. If you bring Redick and Anderson off the bench with Hughes passing ability, the stretch four with the second unit against second units would be deadly. Redick and Anderson together have been torching people. Also, Wafer should be on floor with second unit for his attacking the rim ability. Howard usually plays the entire first quarter unless hes in foul trouble so u bring the second unit in at the 5 minute mark of the first and you have...
Hughes/Redick/Wafer/Anderson/Howard
Good ball movement with that group, stretch four, and wafer attacking the rim would be a good mix of offense with first and second units, that way the offense doesn't become predictable. If the 3's are falling great, if not there are other options.
Curious to see Wafer get more playing time to see how effective he is on driving and setting up teammates. I love that he attacks the rim and gets to the line but when guys collapse on him in lane there are sure to be some guys wide open for layups or short jumpers if they are following him inside the arc.

Unless there's a typo in there ... D12 will need some rest.
From the rather small sample size of 2 games, I don't quite yet trust BBD to stay out of foul trouble if he's starting.

Lol. I said in there that he usually plays the entire first quarter anyways unless he's in foul trouble. He finishs up first quarter with second unit and then BBD takes his place to start the second quarter.
BBD has to be a lot more consistent with his fouls, passing decisions and when to shoot the ball. In first two games, he has taken jumpers from too far out. Take a step in.

Larry Hughes Starting Would Make Jameer A GREAT 6th Man
Striktly the answer to this is a clear yes. Davis starting would make Howard a great sixth man. But the real question is would this help the team win games? No to both.
