Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos has been on the job for just two years, and already he has presided over a dramatic makeover of his organization. Toronto still has to settle for the title of the best fourth-place team in baseball, which it has held for the last four seasons, including the final two under the reign of former GM J.P. Ricciardi. But the Jays are getting better in baseball's toughest division, and Anthopoulos has brought in as much young talent as any GM since he took over in October 2009.

I'm surprised that Norris is ranked 4th and he's never pitched professionally yet.

I would have expected Norris at 10 and Hutchinson at 4.

It's a well written article though.

Acorrding to battersbox.ca, they said when Baseball America was doing their prospect chat about the Jays, someone asked where Nestor Molina would've ranked and they answered he would've ranked outside the top 10.

Asher out-ranking Hech doesn't bother me. Actually gives me an extra spark of hope for AWoj.

Hech will play the middle infield for us within the next 2 years and he's not even in our top 10!!! 8-)

WOW! This speaks volumes as to the recently acquired depth of our organization. We traded our 18th ranked prospect for one of the top young relief pitchers in all of baseball!

I certainly had Molina in our top 10, and believe he will be a good pitcher. Still, this speaks VOLUMES.

I gotta figure that in almost any other system, Gose is considered the "best athlete" and deemed to have the best outfield arm.

I also like how all of our top pitching prospects are considered to have "the best" something.

I'm surprised Deck is rated higher. He was ranked like 95th overall out of all organizations last year in baseball America's top 100 list (one of only 4 Blue Jays, one was Drabek and one was Lawrie so neither can remake the list).

His season numbers were pretty boss, (2.75 ERA in A+, 4.35 ERA in AA) as a 22 year old, and yet he is ranked 8th in the organization. Hes done nothing to lose himself a spot on the top 100 list, and I suspect either our system has gotten a LOT stronger since last year or they made a mistake. I guess its more likely the first thing I said.

It's scary isn't it?! I was surprised when they said Gose wasn't our best athlete. But I think Marisnick played football as well in high school so it gave him the upper hand. By the way, if Moises Sierra was traded, would he move back to his natural position in CF or has he outgrown that position?

i was pretty shocked when Deck McGuire squeezed into the Top 100 Prospects List by Baseball America last year. I don't know if he makes it this year or even moves up. Anybody have any insight on that? Also, anybody have insight on where some of our prospects would rank if the Top 100 prospects list came out tomorrow?

Does Drabek no longer qualify as a prospect because he pitched in the majors?

I'm pretty sure he lost rookie status, but even if he didn't he won't make the top 100 prospects list.

Exactly. AA has built this team the right way the past few years and our minor league depth is testament to that. Explore the trade market and stay the course. 8-)
