Sure looks like it, but it's tough to say with how he's being used. He's been a career 1st and 2nd option and typically got to handle the ball a lot more, so I'm sure he finds it tough to get himself going.

He's never been much of a defender, so if he's not scoring in volume there really isn't much else he contributes to a team.

Much to early to count him out as a contributor, but given the size of his contract it's pretty safe to say he's a waste...

There's a reason Orlando was willing to take-on Gilbert Arenas horrible contract WITH his injury history. I don't think a contending team would take Shard, even for the minimum.

If you disregarding his atrocious contract, I thought he played fairly well for us last season. He attacked the boards (better than both mcgee and blatche) and added decent offensive production. He even earned an Appreciation Thread. The wizards were definitely a better team when he was on the floor. 3 games in its been a different story but I still have faith he will become that player again.

His defense is beyond atrocious. I despise him.

The guys is a pro and tries hard, but his feet just don't move quickly enough, anymore. He's okay for a few minutes here and there, but that's it.

As usually. People are jumping the gun. How about giving him 10 games in a new season with a healthier knee before we give out grades.

Way to little data to draw any reliable conclusions.

He played better in game two. He hit is 3 ball. He posted up nicely two in back to back plays. That looked a little more like the game he had.

At best at this point in his career, Lewis can be a poor man's Antwan Jamison. He's a great character guy, probably a good locker room influence, can sometimes hit the outside shot, can sometimes drive, but even if he tries on D, you just won't notice.

lol about the D comment. But one thing that is different about Lewis from AJ is this. Lewis won't be disgruntled if he comes off the bench. Something I never sensed from AJ. Lewis is here to do whatever the team needs from him. That is exactly the type of player this team needs.

I predict we will see some decent ball from Lewis this year and that he finds his shooting touch. He will be hitting that 3 ball again.

Umm... I based my comments on seeing him last season as well as this season. He's not a good player, anymore. At his age, I'm willing to jump to the wild and crazy conclusion that he's not going to get quicker or better as he gets older.

Right. Injured last year and changing onto a team with a revolving door of players while he was injured and TWO games this year.

He doesnt have to get quicker and I don't believe I said he would. He just needs to do what he did last game. A few post moves. A few three balls. Make the right pass. Rebound some and play team D.

I don't think anyone is looking for him to be an AllStar again. He just needs to be a solid contributing vet who does more of what he did last game.

Alrighty then, you'll have to tell me exactly when I have your permission to give my evaluation of him. 2 years after his retirement - or would that be jumping the gun?

If I mention the multiple times Wall passed to him and those passes turned into turnovers simply because Lewis couldn't move his feet at an adequate rate of speed - would that be an allowable comment?

It was actually me... who implied he'd have to be quicker to be effective, but obviously I was being presumptuous and talking out of turn.

If I don't mention that the team actually did worse when Blatche (who played terribly) left the game and Lewis moved to PF, may I have a lollipop and borrow your rose-colored glasses, sir?
