He's not an impressive shooter, but I'm willing to overlook this because shooters aren't the teams primary concern, he isn't a scorer, and he is more than capable of getting to the free throw line. The team was atrocious at the 3 point line last night, but that was a rare exception. The team really needs someone who is capable of defending multiple positions.

He's not my first option, but I'd pull the trigger.

That's because Carmelo plays Fields position, SF. He doesn't seem quick enough to cover SGs.

Yeah that is true but I'm concerned about his defense at SG not his offense.

All that plus Wes Johnson can't dribble period. He's a good defender but I'm not sure what position to put Wes at when he can't do much besides besides defend adequately. Iggy will give you a little bit of everything, assists, rebounds, steals, etc.

People seem to disregard the fact that we would lose more players than just the ones traded for Iggy because of how much he costs. So it's not just deciding between Wes or Iggy. For example Wes and Beasley for Iggy would get turned down by most that want Iggy but we would probably not pay Beasley if we had Iggy making 15mil. If we are going after a high dollar player then we should add more assets and get one that is worth the money. It's the same as when Haywood was on everyones mind. You lose more than the assets you trade to get them.

Iguodala aside, how many players on the current roster will be in Minny next year? Can you guarantee a better return for your assets? I don't think the Sixers move him (esp the way he has started the season), but he is a big upgrade in your top 8 (second best player behind Love), which is really the core of your rotation. All of those young 'assets' are useless if they end up on someone else's roster.
